Their metal content was extremely high, their quality surpassed mineral deposits, and vast numbers of enemies surrounded them. They were ideal targets, yielding both military merits and materials.
The Blind Jump tactics that the Imperial Fleet could not carry out posed no problem whatsoever for Iax.
After leaving the Night World, the entire fleet plunged deep into The Contested Zone and swiftly frightened off an entire Sector's worth of swarms.
The Pectaro would wait in a safe area alongside the Industrial Ship and the Transport Ship.
They began gathering the supplies remaining in the Star System and replenishing the depleted troop complement aboard the other Transport Ship.
The remaining Assault Cruisers vanished into the Warp again, each on a different heading.
Since the previous encounter with a Leviathan tendril, Iax had discovered that the swarms operating farther afield would return to these tendrils to deliver the enormous quantities of biomass they had gathered.
Although the swarms now turned around and left the moment they spotted Iax's ships, Iax believed they would still provide the information needed.
All it would take was to disperse the fleet, appear at multiple points simultaneously, and track the largest Bio-ships to observe their retreat routes. Finding the intersection on the Star Map would then be simple.
