"Dakka-dakka-dakka!" The roar of Choppa Guns was deafening. A massive breach gaped in the Space Station's outer shell. Its automatic sealing system had activated, continuously spraying Plasticizing Material between the Space Station's outer shield and the hull of the ship that looked like a garbage scow.

Hordes of Orks clutching all manner of crude, ramshackle guns and blades swarmed out through the breach in the ship's shattered forward armor.

Green skin, jutting tusks, and spittle flying everywhere.

"WAAAGH, Lootin'! This is great!"

At one Ork Boy's shout, the other Orks caught the mood and roared excitedly in turn.

"WAAAGH~"

The Space Station's defense commander broke out in a cold sweat as he watched the incoming footage.

Although the Imperial Regent had launched the Indomitus Crusade, there were simply too many problems in the Segmentum Obscurus Star Region.

Ever since the Cicatrix Maledictum—the Great Rift—had opened, all manner of monsters had appeared across the entire Star Region as though they had gone completely out of control.

Orks, Rebels, Chaos Warbands, Necrons—the entire Segmentum Obscurus Star Region had descended into utter chaos.

And his Space Station cluster was the most effective Imperial transfer hub in the area.

An important hub like this would normally have substantial forces stationed there, and the Space Station cluster would also be equipped with extensive defenses.

But there were too many wars.

Nearby Planets kept sending pleas for aid. The Imperial Navy's fleets barely had a moment's rest, while Astra Militarum troops were constantly deployed to different battlefields.

To answer one emergency call for aid, the defense commander had even dispatched nearly half the Space Station's defensive forces.

Then these damned Orks had appeared out of nowhere.

Amid the utter chaos of space, two Ork fleets that had been fighting each other burst out of a Warp Route, still firing wildly at one another.

Then they spotted the Space Station.

With a new target in sight, the Orks immediately abandoned the fight they had been enjoying against their own kind and joined forces to attack the Space Station.

Fortunately, the Orks' ships were exceedingly crude, and even the largest was only the size of a Cruiser. With the immensely powerful defensive weapons mounted on the Space Station, a single volley wiped out a third of the Ork fleets.

Enormous explosions filled the surrounding space with flying metal debris.

The Orks immediately began firing wildly in return.

These crazed Orks did not care about their losses at all. They simply unleashed a furious bombardment against the Void Shield.

At first, the defense commander had sat with the station chief, watching the Ork fleets put on a fireworks show outside. But soon, an Ork Missile somehow passed through the shield and exploded inside the Space Station.

The resulting chain reaction immediately destabilized the Power Supply System.

The previously robust Void Shield weakened in an instant.

That was precisely when the Orks suddenly turned their fleet toward the Space Station, drove an entire Junk Ship through the Void Shield, and slammed straight into the Space Station.

The Space Station instantly descended into chaos.

With so much of the garrison absent, the defense commander, who had been enjoying the spectacle moments earlier, hurriedly dragged the station chief away to take shelter.

On one side of the Space Station, the Astra Militarum had already exchanged fire with the Orks.

The Orks pouring out of the breach in the ship had little heavy firepower. They posed little threat against the Astra Militarum's volleys.

But soon, a mass of ramshackle Trukks poured out of the ship's side.

These battered vehicles had been haphazardly cobbled together by the Orks from vehicles belonging to other species.

The Orks' Big Meks excelled at tinkering with this junk.

These ramshackle vehicles, some running on wheels and others hovering on thrusters, were likewise fitted with heaps of junk weapons.

The Ork Boyz driving them howled with excitement, while the Gretchin and Shoota Boyz riding aboard were practically delirious.

Some Orks even got so worked up that they snapped their steering wheels or control levers, then dumped the job of driving onto the diminutive Gretchin. They grabbed weapons instead and began spraying wild, utterly inaccurate fire in every direction.

Chaos spread rapidly throughout the entire Space Station cluster.

Without heavy firepower to cover them, the Astra Militarum were soon scattered by the Orks, who showed not the slightest concern for whether they lived or died.

Before long, a hulking figure who stood out even among the Orks appeared aboard the wrecked Space Station.

The Ork Warboss roared with excitement, while an Ork Mek beside him waved a Wrench and a Cutter, shouting excitedly at his Boss.

"I reckoned dat torpedo could get through. Had to work! Hahahaha!"

The Ork Warboss would not tolerate anyone laughing more enthusiastically than he did.

He slapped the Ork Mek beside him to the ground, then brandished his weapon: a Power Axe adorned with dark red decorations and a heap of welded-on junk.

Clearly, this Ork fleet had encountered something in the Warp.

The weapon's color scheme was distinctly reminiscent of Khorne, though its design also had the look of an Imperial weapon. After the Ork Mek's modifications, however, it looked more like a heap of assorted garbage.

The Ork Warboss raised his axe high and roared, "Boyz! Take dis place, then push out all around it! Once we've crushed dese skulls, we Blood Axes are gonna smash dem Red Mist Clan cowards too!"

The Blood Axes had little renown in the galaxy. As a small clan, they had not originally been very numerous, with only a few hundred thousand Orks in the entire clan.

Their former Planet had been desperately barren, with nothing on it but some wild animals. Only after a small Imperial exploration team arrived one day and built a small Outpost did the Planet gradually become livelier.

The Blood Axes soon went from fighting the Planet's native animals with Melee Weapons to trading fire with the Imperium using cobbled-together guns. Eventually, they even assembled a collection of bizarre vehicles and carried out an unprecedented Boarding Action against a Navy Frigate that had moved in close to provide support.

It was during that period, after several battles, that this Ork Warboss first realized he seemed to be growing stronger and stronger.

After fighting the Imperium for a long time, he eventually rose from an ordinary Ork Boy to an Ork Warboss and began leading the clan.

The Imperium ultimately abandoned the Outpost because of the cost.

Constant exposure to new weapons and ships, along with the wreckage of all kinds of objects scattered across the battlefields, also allowed the clan's Ork Tinkerers to develop rapidly through continual fighting wherever they went and all sorts of "I reckons."

At last, the Blood Axes left that barren Planet.

During their first aimless voyage through the Warp, they encountered another Ork clan for the first time—the Red Mist Clan.

The moment these Orks met the Blood Axes, they gave their new acquaintances an enthusiastic "welcome."
