Iax paid no attention to what the Priests intended to do after dispersing.
The massive thing before him gave Iax a strange feeling for the first time.
It caused his cognitive core to malfunction slightly. Even his thinking slowed.
An ugly Ork emblem adorned the front of the enormous machine, which stood well over ten meters tall.
Iax did not know what it represented.
It was a likeness of the face of Gork, one of the Orks' gods. And this was an exceptionally large Gorkanaut.
When the Priests gathered around it had been discussing it in binary, Iax had intercepted quite a bit of information as soon as he approached.
Those Tech-Priests had been debating how to classify this thing.
It was clearly too large compared with a conventional Gorkanaut, yet seemed a little too small compared with a Gargant, and its design did not quite match either. It looked more like something dreamed up on the spur of the moment.
The Priests clearly had differing views on how to classify this piece of equipment, so they had argued for quite some time.
But before they could reach a conclusion, Iax had interrupted their discussion.
Its appearance—or rather, the materials used in its shell—caused Iax intense discomfort.
He had never experienced such a feeling.
After consulting his data for a long while, Iax reached a conclusion: perhaps this feeling was called heartache.
The enormous Gorkanaut's shell was covered in all kinds of metal. Some pieces still bore conspicuous numerical labels and serial codes.
And Iax recognized some of the materials.
They were armor plates from Federation Super-heavy Tanks, along with advanced composite metals used only in highly sophisticated equipment.
Yet now they had all been reduced to metal fragments of various sizes, crudely pieced together into this Gorkamorka's shell.
