The dark hull and distinctive weapons configuration marked this as a Black Ship converted from a Cadian-class heavy cruiser.
A massive symbol of the Inquisition loomed above it.
Once docking was complete, large numbers of Stormtroopers boarded the ship, led by a group of Sisters of Battle.
Everyone present was left somewhat bewildered.
The Stormtroopers said nothing, their dark gun muzzles trained on everyone.
While they secured the ship, a tall male figure arrived at the area Adrian had previously designated off-limits.
Carson and two other Grey Knights Battle-Brothers had been waiting there the entire time.
"Inquisitor Faral. It's good to see you."
Recognizing the familiar face, Carson greeted him warmly.
"Your mentor, Kaldor, notified the Inquisition the moment you disappeared. Any team that obtained information about you was to respond immediately."
"You should send Kaldor a message shortly. Through our internal channels, of course."
After their brief exchange, Carson felt strangely moved. Perhaps it was his mentor's concern that warmed his heart.
After passing through a corridor that had been completely sealed off and cleared of personnel, the three Grey Knights returned to the Inquisition's Black Ship.
What followed was straightforward.
The Mortals aboard the ship had known nothing of the Grey Knights' arrival or departure.
Only a few Ultramarines and the Servitors responsible for delivering meals had come into contact with them.
Using the Servitors' identification numbers, the Stormtroopers easily found these fortunate biomechanical constructs, then raised their guns and blasted them to pieces.
Adrian, Calando, and the members of the other two assault squads were ordered to assemble at a designated location. They had to leave with the Inquisition first, undergo memory erasure, and then resume their mission.
Even Guilliman's orders had to be put on hold.
To prevent any misunderstanding, however, Faral sent Guilliman a carefully
