"Day Eleven: The people could finally no longer hold themselves back. The first 'hero' appeared, intending to head for the tower alone."
"Day Twelve: The 'hero' fell. He discovered that the city gates had long been guarded by a heavy military force, and no one could get out."
"Day Thirteen: The people were in an uproar. More heroes appeared."
"Day Fourteen: The heroes broke through the defensive line, only to discover that the higher-ups, who had continually announced they were 'in a meeting,' had already vanished without a trace."
"Day Fifteen: Just as the people felt deceived, one of the towers lit up."
"Heh..."
Amiya, who had been listening to Chen Ran's narration, finally could not help laughing aloud.
Because Chen Ran no longer needed to explain it to her. Even Amiya could see it with her own eyes now—
A red beam of light shot out from within that model planet.
The expression on Amiya's face turned utterly cold. Her eyes, devoid of even a trace of warmth, were filled with resolve.
"My apologies, Lord God. I've made a spectacle of myself before you."
Amiya took a deep breath and dove straight into the model planet. "I'm going to... take care of something."
After all, those higher-ups had been so considerate.
They had excluded all the ordinary people and gathered every last higher-up together. If some sort of accident happened, wouldn't that let her wipe them all out in one go?
Thus, with killing intent as sharp as ice, Amiya crashed directly into that tower.
The Little Rabbit Went on a Killing Spree
There was no saving the people of Terra.
That was not an exclamation. It was a statement.
As the game's poster girl, Amiya had practically embodied all that was true, good, and beautiful.
Yet this little rabbit had been forced into destroying the world. That alone showed just how absurd these Terrans were.
Normal people could not understand it.
From the birth of Terra's current civilization to the Demon King Rabbit's destruction of the world, ten thousand years had passed.
Yet after all that time, they had not even crossed the threshold into capitalism.
That was right. Terra was still a feudal and slave society even now.
So when the gods descended, towers fell from the heavens, and the Divine Messenger proclaimed that peace, coexistence, an eternal paradise, freedom from the worries of survival, and equality for all would be brought to them—
These Terrans would not consider what price had to be paid for such things.
Did lighting the tower mean humanity would forever be shackled, becoming slaves raised and bred by the gods?
Nor would they consider whether the human race would stagnate from then on, or which mattered more: indulging in the present or forging ahead into the future.
They would only think of one thing—
Why?
Under the rule of feudalism and slavery, what were the lower-class people to those in power?
They were lowborn wretches, slaves, expendable goods, and private property.
And now they were being told they had to be equal to those lowborn slave wretches? They even had to be equal to the Infected, who were considered beneath even lowborn slaves?
Was that supposed to be a joke?
What gave those lowborn slave wretches the right?
Thus, the option of lighting the white tower and entering Eden together had never been considered by those in high places from the very beginning.
No worries about food and drink? But those in power already had no such worries.
Peaceful coexistence? If those in power understood those four words, they would not have been waging war year after year until they were practically beating each other's brains out.
Enter Eden together? Those in power thought their current lives were just fine.
Before the gods appeared, those in power could simply slap their foreheads and say, "Huh! I don't have an excuse to start a war? Then I'll just slander you!"
"I'll say you're Sarkaz and send troops to war. If you resist, then the truth has come out and you're making a desperate last stand."
"If you don't resist, then you're guilty. That means I have even more reason to attack you."
What was the purpose of those in power starting wars? It could not have been merely for fun, could it?
It was for greater profit, better oppression, and higher status.
Now that the gods had appeared, one of those powerful figures took a look and thought, This Divine Messenger is quite imposing. They stand so high above everyone else.
Lighting the red tower meant choosing power, profit, and eternal war.
And weren't power and profit exactly what they wanted?
As for eternal war? They were already fighting now anyway. Whatever, whatever.
Had those in power not heard the words, "The gods shall grant you the ending you deserve"?
They had.
But to them, there were only two possible outcomes: victory or death.
Victory meant soaring to become someone as exalted as a Divine Messenger. Death meant they had guessed wrong, and the gods actually intended to kill them.
But "equality for all" was equivalent to asking those in power to give up all their property and status. That was something they could never accept—something even more unbearable than death.
So—
They might as well take a gamble.
If they won, they would become beings who stood above all others.
If they lost, they would drag all of Terra down into the grave with them.
Either way, they lost nothing.
And ironically enough—
The red tower had one more restriction than the white tower.
To light the red tower, thousands—even tens of thousands—of people had to press the button together.
Yet those powerful figures, who had been ready to beat each other's brains out just a second ago, now shook hands, peacefully coexisted, joined forces, and pressed the button of that red tower together.
But gamblers deserved no sympathy.
So they lost their bet.
After the red tower was lit, what awaited them was the Demon King Rabbit, her face full of killing intent as she descended from beyond the heavens, as well as—
A vast expanse of pale white, the Sea Creatures swarming toward the model planet, drawn by that red pillar of light.
"Oh my, how tragic."
"I'm kind-hearted. I can't bear to watch this."
Seeing that the Demon King Rabbit was already about to begin a slaughter, Chen Ran compassionately turned away, reached for the transparent plastic cup beside him, and extended it into the model planet.
To keep those people from running away... no, to prevent blood from splattering out and frightening the flowers and plants around him, Chen Ran used the plastic cup to cover the laser pointer emitting the red light.
Only after doing that did Chen Ran turn to look at the vast white mass outside the food planet.
He opened the Hive Cluster Mind, Sea Creature version, and took a look.
"Sea Creature 1: Family! I saw the red light! Lord God is summoning us!"
"Sea Creature 2: The last time Lord God shone a red light, he gave us a huge bag of food. He's definitely feeding us again this time!"
"Sea Creature 3: Family, the cafeteria's serving food!"
"Sea Creature 4: Charge!"
This had been part of the plan he and the Demon King Rabbit had agreed upon from the start. Lighting the red light would attract the Sea Creatures.
But after glancing at the Terra model planet, Demon King Rabbit route...
"Your little rabbit is cutting down enemies with every swing."
"Your little rabbit is slaughtering left and right."
"Your little rabbit is nearly killing herself into a frenzy."
Watching the translucent notification boxes continuously flash across his vision, Chen Ran thought for a moment before extending his hand anyway.
The Sea Creatures were too innocent. What if they upset their stomachs... no, what if they gained a new ability called "eating a person raw"?
So Chen Ran intercepted the Sea Creatures midway.
He gave them some snacks, watched them cheer joyfully and shout, "Family, I got food again!" before they began heading back the way they came—
Then Chen Ran turned back to the Terra model planet, Demon King Rabbit route.
Seeing that the red laser pointer no longer seemed to be doing anything, Chen Ran removed the plastic cup.
Otherwise, after Amiya, that Demon King Rabbit, finished taking care of certain things and wanted to ascend back, she might slam headfirst into the so-called 'invisible barrier.' That would be hilarious.
After waiting a little longer, he finally saw Amiya appear near the red laser pointer, a blade in her hand.
She was too tiny for him to see her expression clearly, but Chen Ran still noticed the little rabbit looking up at the sky, seemingly searching for someone.
Seeing that, Chen Ran naturally reached into the model planet and held his hand out before Amiya, waiting for the little rabbit to step into his palm so he could bring her back.
You Obtained a Pet Rabbit: Amiya (Adult Version)
Amiya did not turn back to look at the 'tower' behind her.
The sharp killing intent around her had not faded. Instead, it had grown even stronger.
Yet like someone who had drawn their sword and looked around in bewilderment, Amiya did not know where to direct that killing intent.
She had clearly given these Terrans a chance, and not just once.
Yet all they had brought her was disappointment, again and again.
"Did I... really do something wrong?"
Amiya left the tower and murmured to herself.
She had phrased it as a question, but her tone was certain.
Amiya had long since known the answer in her heart.
So she was not lost. She merely found it amusing.
She laughed at her former naivety and at how these Terrans could not change their nature.
Thus, Amiya looked up at the sky. She already knew where she needed to go now.
And that person... no, her Lord God, did not disappoint her either.
That enormous hand, large enough to cover the sky, reached down from beyond the heavens. Yet it was incomparably gentle. By the time it fell before her, it had shrunk to just the right size for her to step onto it alone.
Thus, Amiya did not hesitate in the slightest. She drifted lightly over and landed steadily in that palm.
She let Lord God lift her up and carry her away from the surface of the planet.
With a light blink, in almost an instant, a brilliant river of stars and the god radiating warm light appeared before her eyes.
"Lord God..."
"Lord God..."
Looking at the little rabbit standing in his palm, Chen Ran had yet to speak when Amiya called his name first.
