Background / History

Chen Ran begins as a self-described ordinary person confronted with an impossible event: Heart of the Corrupted Skadi manifests in his living room as a figure-sized being, while a game-like pop-up system grants him abilities and tracks his influence. Rather than panic, he gives Skadi a fish tank, food, and a place to stay while setting three goals: understand the living planet models, seek a normal Terra timeline, and exploit Sea Creature abilities. 2 3

He soon treats planet models as controlled evolutionary environments. By crafting models, placing Sea Creatures within them, and accelerating their rotation, he causes whole worlds to develop at extreme speed and gains powers from the creatures’ adaptations. 3 4 5

After Kal'tsit’s survival and reverence reveal the follower system, Chen Ran recognizes that belief produces Faith Power and direct stat increases. He then turns the Sea Creatures’ devotion into a large-scale source of followers, despite their prayers being chiefly concerned with food. 8

As more inhabitants are extracted from planet models, Chen Ran’s living space becomes a domain for miniature and life-sized residents. He supplies homes, clothing, phones, crowns, and experimental worlds, while treating the models as both worlds to manage and games to manipulate. 18 21 27 30

Chen Ran later expands his intervention from individual models to entire worldlines. He retrieves Xi from her doomed timeline, creates bodies for her consciousness, and demonstrates that he can reverse a damaged worldline’s time flow to restore its planet. 160 174 180 He also considers Precise’s request to rewind history to the Pre-Civilization era, but considers such a reconstruction far more complex than ordinary worldline manipulation. 186 187

Chen Ran is calm, curious, and highly pragmatic when confronted with supernatural phenomena. He approaches living planet models as experiments, quickly testing systems for repeatable rewards, evolutionary outcomes, and new sources of power. 2 3 4 8

He has a playful, teasing manner toward the inhabitants under his care, frequently giving them nicknames and provoking reactions for his own amusement.
