Orochimaru and Jiraiya were puzzled by Qingyun's words. Even if they were surrounded by Sunagakure ninja, they would have to pay a steep price to break out. Qingyun was fairly strong, but he still fell short of them.
Yet Qingyun's confidence did not seem feigned. Where, then, did it come from?
As Tsunade's teammates, they knew something about Qingyun. He was no villain, but neither was he the sort to sacrifice himself for others. He would never disregard his own safety for a momentary victory.
The two exchanged a glance, each seeing the confusion in the other's eyes.
After a long silence, Orochimaru finally asked, "Are you really confident you can break out if Sunagakure surrounds you?"
"Yes."
"In that case, we'll do as you suggested!"
After studying Qingyun for a while, Orochimaru finally made up his mind and agreed to his plan.
"But... Orochimaru, shouldn't we inform Tsunade about such an important plan?"
Seeing Orochimaru agree to Qingyun's plan, Jiraiya hesitated before asking him.
Qingyun was Tsunade's disciple. If anything happened to him, she would be furious enough to skin them both alive.
"There's no need. Tsunade is researching Chiyo's compound poisons right now, and we can't distract her. The two of us can carry out this plan."
Orochimaru glanced at Qingyun again before answering Jiraiya.
"Well... all right! Qingyun, make sure you stay safe. If things go wrong, prioritize staying alive. It doesn't matter if the plan fails. We can find another opportunity."
Jiraiya looked at Qingyun and gave him a solemn warning.
Qingyun could only nod. Although he had complete confidence in his plan, he could not reject Jiraiya's goodwill.
After discussing the plan once more, the three went their separate ways to prepare for that night's raid.
