Kurama and Minato returned to Naruto’s childhood and secretly guided him as he grew, while Konoha’s tensions with the Uchiha Clan culminated in Shisui’s death. The arc ended with Naruto meeting a green-clad Ninja at the Training Ground as Hinata followed him.

• Kurama found himself back in Naruto’s childhood and joined Minato in secretly protecting and teaching the young boy, while Hiruzen met Naruto and encouraged his dream of becoming Hokage.
• Naruto began showing unusual skill and knowledge, learned from Minato in his dreams, befriended Hinata, and encouraged her before her match against Neji.
• Naruto returned Itachi’s marked weapons, while Minato and Kurama discussed the coming Uchiha massacre and Minato began teaching Naruto Ninjutsu.
• Danzo ambushed Shisui and stole one of his Mangekyō Sharingan, then Root pursued Shisui as he fought to avoid leading them to Itachi.
• Shisui gave Itachi his remaining eye and leapt from a cliff to discourage the Uchiha coup, but the Masked Man later found and killed him.
• Naruto heard villagers discussing the arrests of Uchiha spies and went to train, where he met a green-clad Ninja who recognized Naruto and Hinata.

Naruto’s hidden abilities drew the attention of Konoha’s leaders, Kakashi, the Hyuga, and Danzo as he gained greater freedom and began at the Academy. Meanwhile, Obito’s schemes against the Uchiha escalated, and Minato and the Nine-Tails intervened when Obito attacked Izumi, leaving the Nine-Tails’ clone to confront him.

• Might Guy recognized Naruto’s Flying Thunder God Technique, reported his encounter to Hiruzen, and Hiruzen began considering how to protect Naruto while granting him greater freedom.
• Kakashi tested Naruto with a lethal attack, but Naruto escaped, and Kakashi later chose to protect him after the Nine-Tails placed a mark on his neck that suppressed his memories.
• Hiruzen pressed Danzo and the advisers to lift restrictions on Naruto, while the Nine-Tails gathered natural energy and Minato considered the danger posed by the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
• Obito sent Shisui to Kirigakure to manipulate events around the Three-Tails, while Hiruzen and Shikaku recognized that the Uchiha Clan’s fate had been decided.
• Naruto started at the Ninja Academy with Hinata and Sasuke, and Neji confronted them before Iruka called them in to register.
• Itachi agreed to Madara Uchiha’s offer to help with his plan, then warned Naruto to stay away from the Uchiha after rescuing him from the river.

Minato intervened in the Uchiha massacre, saving Sasuke, Itachi, and more than fifty clan members while confronting Danzo. As Naruto trained with the Nine-Tails and grew closer to Hinata, Itachi joined the Akatsuki, Kakashi negotiated with Kirigakure, and Naruto finally mastered Sage Mode before meeting his father’s spirit.

• Sasuke returned to the Uchiha compound and found his clan slaughtered, but Naruto interrupted Itachi before he could break Sasuke’s spirit.
• Minato entered Itachi’s Tsukuyomi, persuaded him to release Sasuke, and helped evacuate more than fifty Uchiha survivors while taking Fugaku and Mikoto’s bodies.
• Hiashi confronted Danzo over the massacre, and Hiruzen confirmed his order for Danzo to withdraw, though he later let Danzo flee.
• Itachi learned that Izumi had survived, confessed the truth to her, and accepted her rejection before realizing Shisui was alive and had joined the Akatsuki.
• Neji revealed to Sasuke that the Caged Bird Seal had bound him to protect the Hyuga Main Family, and the two began to bond as Naruto and Hinata watched.
• The Nine-Tails began training Naruto to use natural energy, and Naruto repeatedly risked petrification while Hinata watched over him.

• Naruto defeated Nadare Rōga and the other Snow Ninja, and Koyuki asked Kakashi’s team to help her reclaim the Land of Snow.
