Ch. 21Stealing an eye
Key plot points and events
- The Nine-Tails realizes Minato had anticipated possible trouble and left Naruto safeguards, including plans to teach him sealing jutsu. Kushina’s chakra remains bound into the seal and cannot be accessed without undoing it.

- Hiruzen trusts Shisui deeply, both because of his sincere loyalty and because Shisui is Kagami Uchiha’s descendant. Shisui sets off for the clan compound, confident that his Body Flicker technique will let him avoid capture.
- Danzo intercepts him and appears to offer sympathy about the personal cost of opposing his clan. Shisui trusts Danzo, whom he regards as a fellow servant of Konoha.
- Danzo’s Root operatives surround Shisui. During their conversation, Danzo suddenly steals one of Shisui’s Sharingan eyes. Shisui escapes using Body Flicker, and Danzo orders Root to pursue him.
