Shamon attached the suppressor and fired a few test shots into the distance. The weapon certainly packed a punch.
"Let's start with a thousand pistols and a hundred thousand bullets," Shamon said slowly after studying the pistol in his hand for a while.
"Of course, sir! Will you be paying now, or...?" Dave sprang up from the table and asked with a beaming smile.
Behind him, Kakuzu pulled a sack from his backpack and opened its mouth wide. I, Kakuzu, am ready.
"Could I... pay after the war ends?" Shamon closed his eyes and asked, looking rather embarrassed.
The village really is out of money... If we win this war, great—we can demand some money from Konoha. If we lose... well... I'll have nothing left to lose anyway. Why would I be afraid of Akatsuki when they still have something to lose?
"Ormo, pack everything up. We're leaving. Let's go do business with Konoha." Without so much as looking at Shamon, Dave picked up the things on the table and prepared to leave.
Playing the nothing-to-lose card, huh? I can play that game too.
"Stop! I... I'll pay now! But I have to inspect the goods!" Shamon hurriedly called out to the two men about to leave. This was no joke. Konoha was already hard enough to fight. If Akatsuki went and sold them weapons too, how the hell was his side supposed to stand a chance?
"Ah, now that's more like it. Ormo, let the gentleman inspect the goods!" The moment Dave and Kakuzu heard that, they turned around, their smiles looking rather sinister beneath the stockings stretched over their faces.
Kakuzu took several Sealing Scrolls from his backpack and formed hand seals. Several large sacks of goods appeared inside the tent.
Shamon stepped forward and opened two sacks.
