George's voice came from inside the Laboratory.
Kakuzu and Dave hurried inside.
"Here. Now get lost," George said impatiently, handing the baby to Kakuzu.
"Hey, is that any way to talk to your summoner? Getting too full of yourself, or do you think I can't swing a blade anymore?" Dave cracked George across his big forehead with his knuckles and demanded irritably.
George looked at Dave, utterly aggrieved... Hmph... next time I fight Black Zetsu, I'm taking the battlefield right to your doorstep! he thought viciously.
"Why are her eyes still closed?" Kakuzu asked in confusion, looking at the motionless baby in his arms.
"She's asleep, dumbass." What an idiot. George couldn't take on Dave, but surely he could take on Kakuzu?
"Asleep? Smack!" Kakuzu reached out and slapped the baby across the face...
"Waaah! Waaah!" The baby suddenly burst into loud sobs...
"Fuck, are you really that stupid?! She's so damn loud! Get out!" The baby's crying drove George to distraction, and he roared in irritation.
"Come here, little Konan. Let Uncle Dave hold you. Never mind your daddy." Dave chuckled, took the baby from Kakuzu's arms, and rocked her gently to soothe her.
The little one really did stop crying. The tiny baby opened her big eyes and gazed happily at Dave.
"Wait, what do you mean I'm her dad?" Kakuzu asked, spotting the issue.
Dave gestured toward the baby in his arms with his chin, signaling for Kakuzu to look.
Kakuzu turned his gaze to the baby... her eyes... her pupils... were green, exactly like his...
"Basically, the baby died because her genes were too weak. All that stuff about premature birth is bullshit. If she had genes from that Otsutsuki Kaguya, she'd be fine even if she was born after just one month
