"What's wrong with him?"
"I don't know, Doctor. He was fine when we wheeled him into the ward just now, then suddenly he was like this again."
"All right, let's save him."
"Doctor! His heart rate is negative! Oh my God! I've never seen a negative heart rate before!"
"Save him!"
It was clearly summer, yet the breeze in the hospital room felt like the bone-chilling wind of a subzero winter day, whistling straight through Dave's heart.
They were all walking disasters. Every last one of them...
Was there even a single normal person left around me...?
"You scared me to death, Dave. You were fine—how did this suddenly happen?" Tsukimi's eyes were red as she cradled one of Dave's hands in both of hers while he lay in bed.
"It's all right, Tsukimi. I just got so angry I couldn't catch my breath. They've really screwed me over." Dave clutched his chest.
"Dave, you still have me by your side." Tsukimi smiled faintly and rested her head on his chest.
"Tsukimi, thank goodness I have you." Feeling the warmth against his chest, Dave felt warmth spread through his heart as well.
"Oh, right, Dave. Fugaku called me earlier and said our house had been sealed off. He just had the officers from the Konoha Military Police Force remove the seals," Tsukimi said, suddenly remembering something.
"Heh. At least that brat knows how to read the room." Dave gave a cold chuckle.
"All right, Fugaku is a pretty good person, and he treats Mikoto well too. Don't be so hostile toward him." Tsukimi smiled helplessly.
"Hmph. That pig's already laid claim to our precious girl. How am I supposed to be nice to him? The only reason I haven't cooked him into stew is that you keep stopping me,"
