The moment he stepped into the Arena, Naruto, who had been itching to show off for ages, excitedly shouted exactly what was on his mind. Watching him speak so freely gave Madara a headache.
Although he had played little part in Naruto's upbringing, Naruto had received the same treatment and instruction as Sasuke after joining his household. Yet the boy was still so rash and impulsive. Apparently, personality really was something you were born with.
"You little punk, I'm the one who's going to win! Quit running your mouth! Right, Akamaru?"
Seeing Naruto act as though he looked down on him, the fiercely proud Kiba angrily shot back. As he argued with Naruto, he brought his ninja dog Akamaru into it as well, and Akamaru barked in agreement with his master.
"Quit talking nonsense. You can't beat me. And don't bring your puppy into the ring! He'll interfere with the match!"
While trading threats with Kiba, Naruto watched him set Akamaru down on the arena floor. Completely baffled, Naruto immediately protested.
Up on the viewing platform, Madara could only smile helplessly at Naruto's misunderstanding.
They were all from the same village, and had even studied together at the same school, yet Naruto, who came from a civilian background, did not even know what ninjutsu his classmates used. In Madara's eyes, this was not Naruto's fault. It was Konoha's failure.
Kiba Inuzuka came from Konoha's Inuzuka Clan, a clan whose secret techniques centered on living and fighting alongside ninja dogs. Their abilities featured Beast Mimicry Ninjutsu and Combined Transformation. Akamaru was effectively both Kiba's ninja tool and his partner, so of course he was allowed to participate.
Thinking it over, children from Konoha's great clans, such
