Ultra Wormholes had erupted across the Alola Great Secret Realm.
Huge numbers of Ultra Beasts emerged through the Ultra Wormholes into the Alola Great Secret Realm. Although the strongest were only at the Elite Four Class Peak, even Champion Class Pokémon Trainers could not face so many Ultra Beasts at once.
Moreover, ordinary Poké Balls could not capture these Ultra Beasts even after they had been defeated. Even Gym Leader Class Ultra Beasts required at least a Luxury Ball to contain them, placing an enormous additional strain on the Pokémon League.
After all, manufacturing Luxury Balls was far more difficult than making ordinary black-and-white balls. Production costs were so high that ordinary Pokémon Trainers could not afford them.
And that was only for Gym Leader Class Ultra Beasts. Against Elite Four Class ones, even Luxury Balls were useless. Only the Beast Balls unique to the Alola Region would work.
However, Beast Ball manufacturing technology was still under development. Although they could be made, mass production remained impossible. This was another predicament the Federation Empire currently faced.

After all, the Federation Empire alone could no longer hold off the powerful Ultra Beasts. Without support from the Pokémon League, the Alola Great Secret Realm might be destroyed overnight.
Not only that, but spatial merging had begun occurring in the various Great Secret Realms. Cracks appeared one after another within the Secret Realms, connecting directly to locations all across Earth.
This phenomenon sent countries into a panic, especially those with Great Secret Realms. No one knew whether this merging of Secret Realms would be good or bad.
