Hearing the commotion at the door, Satomi looked out from inside the house. She, too, was startled when she saw Kana. "Miss Kana, is there something you need?"
"Yes, I have a few things I'd like to ask Mr. Kazemori." Kana nodded slightly, looking a little embarrassed. "Could you let us speak in private?"
At her words, Kazemori Masaki wondered what exactly she wanted to discuss with him. He glanced at Senju Toka, who gave him a pleading look. Then he exchanged a glance with Satomi. After a moment's hesitation, she nodded.
Kazemori Masaki considered it for a moment, then said, "I understand."
"Thank you." Kana bowed slightly.
Senju Toka and Satomi went to another room. Since Kazemori Masaki had been promoted to jonin, Tobirama had assigned him a spacious new house. In their old home, the two women would probably have had to go outside to give them privacy.
"Please, have a seat," Kazemori Masaki said.
Kana bowed again, then gently settled onto her knees. She was not a ninja, and wore the traditional clothing of a young noblewoman, with wide sleeves and a narrow skirt. Her posture was straight, her thick, jet-black hair flowing down her back, and every movement displayed exquisite grace.
Though Kana was only thirteen or fourteen, there were already hints of the beauty she would become. He wondered who would marry such a girl. Come to think of it, Kagami Uchiha had almost married her, but he had declined out of regard for the marriage Madara had previously arranged
