After letting her ideas take shape for a while, Kana finally began writing. Following the style of celebrated authors of the past, she turned a myth about the Sage of Six Paths into a novel. In it, she incorporated the views she had discussed with Kazemori Masaki, adapting and refining them to fit the Land of Fire's current circumstances.
Kazemori Masaki had told her that the key to an excellent work about the human condition was not its choice of words, but its ability to draw readers in and make them feel what the characters felt. Without that connection, no matter how sound the ideas in the book were, they could never move readers enough to truly accept them and put them into practice.
Kana seemed to understand. She had watched the great Senju Clan change step by step into what it was now. Never before had she felt her father's hopes for peace so deeply, and that understanding made her willing to support his wish.
The same sentiment could be seen in the Land of Fire's Capital. The First Shinobi World War had been unprecedented in scale, and it was the first time the Land of Fire had fought such an enormous war. The money, weapons, and manpower it consumed were beyond counting, placing a heavy burden not only on commoners but on local nobles as well.
Some older nobles had become what was known as the Peace Faction. Drawing on their seniority, they spoke out at court and petitioned the Daimyo to end the war. Tobirama himself had certainly played a part in the Daimyo's acceptance of his proposed ten years of peace, but the petitions of those older nobles had also contributed.
Most of these older nobles had lived through the chaos of the Warring States Period.
