Bunpuku stared intently at the dark red mark Kazemori Masaki had shown him. Hearing Shukaku's voice in his Mental World, he could not help feeling surprised.
Earlier, Shukaku had said he could sense Four-Tails Son Gokū's chakra. At the time, Bunpuku and Shukaku had entertained several possibilities, wondering whether Konoha Ninja Village had done something when it captured the Four-Tails' jinchūriki, much as Kinkaku and Ginkaku had.
Bunpuku had not intended to pursue the matter. It might involve the village's secrets, and as the leader of another shinobi village, he had no business prying. Yet he had never expected Kazemori Masaki to suddenly show him that secret and mention some sort of agreement.
"What is that?" Hearing that Shukaku seemed to recognize the mark, Bunpuku quickly asked.
"It's a mark woven from a tailed beast's chakra. It's much like the jutsu formulas you humans use, with a special function," Shukaku explained. "It can generate that fellow Son Gokū's chakra, allowing him to contact other tailed beasts."
"In other words, as long as your chakra touches it, you can contact the Four-Tails—er, Son Gokū?" Bunpuku asked inwardly. He had meant to say the Four-Tails, but remembered Shukaku telling him that Four-Tails Son Gokū disliked being called that. Even though the Four-Tails was not here, he still used the name Son Gokū.
"That's about right," Shukaku said. "How did this fellow get hold of it? You can't do this just by extracting a tailed beast from a jinchūriki. We tailed beasts have to give it willingly."
"Then Mr. Kazemori must have made contact with Son Gokū when he captured his jinchūriki, earned his trust, and received this mark," Bunpuku said. "Could the agreement he mentioned be one he made with Son Gokū?"
