The driver dropped the four of them off at the Mu Family villa. After the car left, they went through the villa gates.
Warm yellow lights illuminated the front yard. The lawns on either side had been swept spotless, and the Bluestone Path running down the middle was wide enough for a car.
Yan Wen was the first to push open the door. "We're back! Mom, I brought you your favorite matcha desserts."
Xie Yunshu came downstairs with Mu Xu Xi behind her. "You're here. Come, sit down."
Mo Chengzhou inclined his head. "Hello, Auntie. Sorry for the intrusion."
"You're not intruding at all. Come on, sit down."
Tang Yun took out a gift box. "Auntie, my mom asked me to bring you these face masks. She wanted to thank you for looking after me when I stayed here before."
Xie Yunshu accepted the box. "There's no need to bring gifts next time. You're Xiao Wen's friend. As his mother, it's only right that I look after his good friends."
Mo Chengzhou held out a jewelry box to Xie Yunshu. "Auntie, I prepared a small gift as a token of my appreciation. I hope you like it."
Xie Yunshu took the box and opened it. Inside was a blue-green jade bangle, its fine texture lending it an air of elegance and nobility.
Looking at the bangle, Yan Wen marveled, Whoa! That bangle is right up Mom's alley. Has Mr. Mo already started winning over his future mother-in-law?
Xiao Qi nodded approvingly. I didn't expect Mr. Mo to be so good at this.
"That's very thoughtful of you, Chengzhou. I love this bangle." Xie Yunshu beamed. She might like it, but taking her son away would not be that easy.
Tang Yun brought out another gift set.
