Golduck's Hypnosis Wave struck the barrier without causing so much as a ripple. Sceptile had easily neutralized the move.
"Sceptile, use Energy Ball!"
After blocking Golduck's attack, Ye Tian quickly ordered Sceptile to strike, hoping to seize the opportunity to defeat Golduck.
Sceptile did not attack immediately upon receiving Ye Tian's command. Instead, a pained expression crossed its face, and its entire body began turning purple.
These were the symptoms of being afflicted with Poison. Affected by the Toxic Spikes Venomoth had scattered, Sceptile was now steadily losing HP to Poison.
"Golduck, attack with Confusion!"
Seeing that Sceptile had been afflicted with Poison, the examiner seized the opportunity to have Golduck counterattack.
Golduck quickly gathered the Psychic-type energy around it, shaping a large amount of it into a powerful Confusion attack.
Once the attack took shape, Golduck sent it hurtling toward Sceptile.
"Sceptile, hang in there! Hurry and use Energy Ball!"
Seeing Golduck launch its offensive, Ye Tian kept encouraging Sceptile.
Hearing its Trainer's encouragement, Sceptile rallied. Enduring the pain of the potent Poison, it began gathering Grass-type energy.
Dense Grass-type energy gathered in front of Sceptile, rapidly forming an emerald-green sphere of light. Once the Energy Ball took shape, it shot toward Golduck.
Confusion struck Sceptile first. Since the Psychic-type move did not benefit from a same-type attack bonus, it only took away a quarter of Sceptile's HP.
Sceptile's Energy Ball then struck Golduck as well. The high-damage Grass-type move wiped out Golduck's remaining third of its HP, leaving it unable to battle.
At the same time, Sceptile's body turned dark purple again. A burst of Poison damage pushed its HP below one-third.
Between Golduck's two attacks and the Poison damage, Sceptile had very little HP left.
"Come back, Golduck." The examiner quickly recalled the defeated Golduck, then took
