Togekiss had been afflicted by Curse. As long as the battle continued, its HP would keep dropping sharply.
Curse cost its user half their HP. Decidueye's HP had already been very low when it used the move, so it fainted immediately afterward.
"Come back, Decidueye." Jiang Chi recalled Decidueye without a flicker of emotion, then sent out his next Pokémon.
"Chandelure, it's your turn to shine!"
The third Pokémon Jiang Chi sent out was another Ghost-type Pokémon. Rather than a pure Ghost type, however, Chandelure was a dual Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon.

Chandelure had solid base stats across the board, with his towering base Special Attack of 145 standing out most.
Such a stat was rarely seen in Pokémon other than pseudo-legendaries. Jiang Chi's Chandelure would be a formidable opponent.

Jiang Chi went on the offensive, ordering Chandelure to use Taunt. A Pokémon hit by Taunt could only use attacking moves for a while, not status moves.
Chandelure released a strange energy from the flame atop his head, and it rapidly spread across the battlefield.
