Mimikyu absorbed the surrounding energy to form a barrier, which rose before it and blocked the incoming electrical assault.
Countless currents battered the transparent barrier. Under their relentless barrage, cracks began to appear.
Just then, a projectile formed from a vast amount of compressed Electric-type energy hurtled over and slammed into the barrier, triggering a violent explosion.
The barrier at the center of the blast shattered instantly. Mimikyu was caught in the shock wave as well and suffered severe injuries.
"Mimikyu, Pain Split!"
Jiang Chi issued another command, having Mimikyu use Pain Split to share its HP with Ampharos.
A mysterious energy appeared, linking the two Pokémon together before redistributing their HP evenly.
Ampharos still had plenty of HP, while Mimikyu had already been badly wounded, so Pain Split had a major impact on Ampharos.
Some of Ampharos's HP was drawn into Mimikyu's body, leaving both Pokémon at half health.
However, Ampharos was still badly poisoned. The poison flared up again, taking another sizable chunk of its HP.
Jiang Chi's commands were highly seasoned. With a single Pain Split, he had turned Mimikyu's disadvantage into a considerable advantage.
"That move is impressive, but so what?" Zhang Cheng said coldly. "Do you really think your Mimikyu can withstand another Zap Cannon from Ampharos?"
"Ampharos, give it everything you've got! Unleash your strongest Zap Cannon!"
Ampharos did not have much time left. The severe poison would soon leave it badly weakened. While it still had a decent amount of HP, its best option was to unleash its strongest attack on the half-health
