Ye Tian had learned about Mega Diancie beforehand and knew that Mega Diancie was extremely vulnerable to Steel-type moves. He immediately ordered his low-HP Hydreigon to attack with the only Steel-type move he knew.
Hydreigon swung his draconic tail, channeling Steel-type energy into it. His entire tail quickly became as hard as steel.
Once his tail reached maximum hardness, Hydreigon twisted his body and lashed out with Iron Tail, striking viciously at Mega Diancie in midair.
"Mega Diancie, use Protect!"
Facing Hydreigon's Steel-type move, Zhang Cheng still chose a conservative approach, preserving Mega Diancie's condition as much as possible.
He still knew nothing about Ye Tian's final Pokémon, after all, and the unknown was often the most frightening thing of all.
Upon receiving Zhang Cheng's instructions, Mega Diancie quickly absorbed the surrounding Normal-type energy and deftly shaped it into a transparent barrier.
The barrier blocked Hydreigon's Iron Tail. Although Iron Tail was highly effective against Mega Diancie, it had no type advantage against a Protect barrier constructed from Normal-type energy.
Moreover, Hydreigon's Iron Tail received neither a same-type attack bonus nor an additional boost from an item, making it unrealistic to shatter the barrier.
Eventually, all the Steel-type energy was exhausted, yet the barrier still stood intact.
"Mega Diancie, use Moonblast!"
Only after neutralizing the opposing attack did Zhang Cheng order Mega Diancie to go on the offensive.
Mega Diancie generated a vast amount of Fairy-type energy at incredible speed, shaping it into a Moonblast that struck Hydreigon nearby.
Already severely wounded, Hydreigon took the devastating blow, and his HP rapidly dropped to zero. He crashed to the ground, unable to battle.
At this point, Ye Tian also had only one Pokémon left that could fight. Both sides were effectively back on equal footing.
