Electrolux's aged voice rang out. "This is no little thing. A supreme treasure like this can only be found by chance, never sought out. You might not see one even in several million years."
Electrolux paused, then said, "A piece the size of the one in your hand would take at least five hundred thousand years or so to form."
"Over five hundred thousand years? Is it really that exaggerated?" Tian Chen asked, feigning confusion.
"You mustn't underestimate this metal. Gold of life is the purified, solid form of life force, nurtured from immense vitality over tens of millions of years. It is a supreme treasure of heaven and earth. It forms from the gathered life force of countless living beings-you could even call it a world," Electrolux explained patiently. "Moreover, it not only strengthens vitality but also increases the purity of spiritual power. To a Soul Master, it is priceless."
Tian Chen nodded thoughtfully. "I see. No wonder you've never been able to forget it. But, Elder Yi, I have something else here. Take a look."
As he spoke, in the outside world, he slowly took a bed-sized piece of gold of life from his storage ring. The glittering metal radiated a faint vitality, as though it contained endless life force.
Electrolux's voice instantly filled with excitement, and he teleported over to it. "This... how is this possible? A bed-sized piece of gold of life! How many years would it take to form something like this? Where did you find it?"
He gently stroked it and immediately felt his Divine Sense receive boundless nourishment.
Tian Chen smiled faintly and casually made up a story. "I happened to find it in some ancient ruins. At the time, I didn't realize it was so precious. I just thought the aura it gave off was unusual, so I brought it back."
Electrolux's face brimmed with shock and excitement. He carefully examined the bed-sized piece of gold of life, his eyes shining. "This is simply unbelievable! He raised his head and looked at Tian Chen, a trace of gravity in his voice. "Tian Chen, do you understand how precious this is? You must keep it safe and not let outsiders learn of it lightly."
Tian Chen nodded and said earnestly, "Elder Yi, I understand. I'll be careful. But I wanted to ask—since this stuff can restore your Divine Sense, could you refine all of it?"
Hearing Tian Chen's question, Electrolux shook his head and said solemnly, "Tian Chen, absolutely not! Gold of life may be a supreme treasure, but its power is far too immense. It is by no means something that can be refined easily."
He pointed at the bed-sized piece of gold of life, his tone grave. "As you just heard me say, gold of life is the purified, solid form of life force. It contains 'a world's worth of vitality.' Its energy is more powerful than you can imagine. If you absorb too much at once and exceed the capacity of your Sea of Consciousness or your body, that energy will run wild. Your mind could collapse, and even your flesh could disintegrate. The consequences would be unthinkable."
Electrolux paused before continuing, "Even I cannot refine so much gold of life in one go. Though your Sea of Consciousness and body are much stronger than those of an ordinary Soul Master, they would still buckle beneath such immense energy. Given your body's current condition, you could absorb, at most, the small piece you were holding just now."
After saying this, he looked at Tian Chen, a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes. "Still, possessing this gold of life already makes you extraordinarily fortunate. Even if you cannot absorb it, its benefits to your mind alone remain immeasurable."
Tian Chen nodded, determination flashing in his eyes. "All right, Elder Yi. I'll do as you say. I'll start by refining a small piece of gold of life while working hard to strengthen my spiritual power and physique. I believe that as long as I keep trying, one day I'll be able to refine this entire piece."
Electrolux smiled faintly and patted Tian Chen on the shoulder. "Good. Then let's begin!"
Electrolux took the gold of life from Tian Chen's hand and raised it above his head. In an instant, the gold of life transformed into an enormous vortex.
The vortex radiated a faint vitality, as though it contained endless life force.
A trace of gravity appeared on Electrolux's face as his hands rapidly formed seals in the air.
Following his gestures, the vortex of gold of life slowly began moving toward Tian Chen, finally coming to rest above his forehead.
"Tian Chen, focus your mind and feel the nourishment of this life force." Electrolux's voice rang out in Tian Chen's mind.
Tian Chen closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and began to concentrate.
He could feel a powerful surge of life force pouring in through his forehead, like a warm current washing through his mind. That power swiftly rushed into his Sea of Consciousness, instantly triggering a tremendous transformation.
Within his Sea of Consciousness, torrential jade-green rain fell from the sky, every drop brimming with powerful life force.
With every drop that fell, Tian Chen's Sea of Consciousness expanded a little more.
By the end, Tian Chen's Sea of Consciousness had expanded to more than three times its original size. Nourished by that boundless vitality, the gray hue gradually faded from Electrolux's body.
He became a handsome, white-haired man instead, his magnificent black robe vivid and lifelike. Golden runes glittered across the robe, and in his right hand he held a staff two meters longer than he was tall. The entire staff was a blend of black, white, and gold.
"With the sun and moon in my grasp, I pluck the stars; none in this world compares to me. This wisp of my Divine Sense was originally extremely fragile and unstable. But with gold of life as its vessel, I no longer need to worry about that, and I can even assume human form."
With that, Electrolux slowly walked toward Tian Chen and patted his shoulder, his aged voice ringing out.
"Little fellow, the first time I saw you, I sensed that the power of your Blood Emperor Body existed on such a lofty plane that it even transcended this heaven and earth. I do not know whether this is heaven's will, but would you be willing to become my disciple and carry on my legacy?"
