He could have attained Sainthood Through the Physical Body and ascended to the rank of Golden Immortal through Ascension, but he could not bear to leave his wife, Five Blessings Immortaless Sun Xun, or his cousin and childhood sweetheart, Hundred Flowers Fairy Ni Fangxian. His disciples had also held him back, delaying his Ascension. He still had attachments in this world; his heart still dwelled here, and so he could not attain Ascension.
He left his original body in secluded cultivation in Carefree Cave at Evergreen Rock on Yunnan Lion Ridge, then gathered the essences of the five directions and five elements to fashion the body of a little boy. He attached his nascent soul to it and refined it into a vessel, occasionally venturing out in this guise under the additional title of Bliss Boy.
While gathering eastern Taiyi essence years ago, he had followed the Earth Veins to a mortal household. Its master, a man surnamed Lu and named Lu Min, pleaded desperately to learn the Dao. Li Jingxu did not formally accept him as a disciple, but taught him a cultivation method that could lead to the rank of heavenly immortal and bestowed upon him a Taibai Light-Splitting Sword.
Lu Min later fathered a son and a daughter. He left his son at home for his wife to raise and carry on the family line, while he took his daughter,
