The Nether Bureau Ghost Deity was likely a Yin Soldier tasked specifically with apprehending criminals for the Nether Bureau.
The three standing before the Iron Whip Yin Soldier, however, were interesting.
Bai Fu, a White-Haired Old Man, and a vicious demon ghost as tall as the Iron Whip Yin Soldier, covered in purple fur, with two grotesquely muscular arms. An ominous aura radiated from its entire body.
Interesting. This Yin Soldier should have the status and strength of someone newly advanced to Celestial Person. I can't gauge that old man's depths, but this purple-furred Ghost Being should have Nascent Soul Purple Mansion Realm strength. Of the three, Bai Fu is undoubtedly the weakest.
Zhang Yuan observed in silence.
The Iron Whip Yin Soldier wasn't targeting the three of them, yet they stood in its way, seemingly protecting something. What could possibly warrant Bai Fu and the White-Haired Old Man joining forces with a Ghost Being to protect it?
It had to be something extraordinary.
Zhang Yuan didn't rashly reveal himself. He remained concealed on the rooftop, watching, and looked behind the three of them.
Whether it was due to the darkness or something else, the White Saint Tree's light wasn't as bright at night as it was during the day. Its glow was so dim that, at first glance, the tree looked withered. On closer inspection, dozens of whip marks, old and new, could be seen around its roots.
Those marks had clearly been left by the Iron Whip Yin Soldier.
*Does this White Saint Tree still hold some treasure? No, that's not right. I've already refined the White Saint Fruit. This White Saint Tree has no value left for me. Even if I cut it down, it would be good for little more than firewood. What belongs to me
