A God Sovereign's Buried Bones, the Vanquished of All Ages, and an Azure Dragon Hooked with One Hand
Inside the Jue Tian Imperial Mausoleum.
Passing through the stone door stained with the blood of the Imperial Dao, Su Chen felt as though he had crossed hundreds of millions of years in a single step.
He stepped out of the present age and into a forgotten stretch of ancient spacetime.
The mausoleum was not gloomy and cramped as he had imagined. Instead, it was inconceivably vast, as though it were an independently created small thousand world.
Overhead spread a simulated, boundless starry sky. Though its stars had long since gone dark, this grand feat of plucking stars and moons, of shaping a universe, still made his soul tremble.
"So this is... the grandeur of a God Sovereign?"
Su Chen dragged his gravely wounded body onward, leaving a bloody footprint with every step.
But he had no attention to spare for healing. His eyes remained fixed on either side of the mausoleum.
There were no treasures of gold and silver buried there, nor mountains of spirit stones and divine source.
There were only towering statues, each a hundred thousand feet tall.
Their materials varied. Some were carved from primordial divine stone, others cast from deepsea black gold. Some were even the petrified corpses of Primordial Ferocious Beasts!
They stood in two rows stretching to the limit of his vision, like ministers paying homage to their emperor.
But when Su Chen looked closer, he could not help drawing a sharp breath, his scalp prickling.
These statues bore no expressions of submission. Instead, they were filled with defiance, rage, despair, and even... terror!
The first statue depicted a sacred angel with thirty-six wings, holding a broken Holy Sword of light. A stone spear had nailed the angel to the ground, head raised in a mournful howl.
