Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Saint King Realm | 524 525 | His sudden advancement attracts Su Changge’s attention. The Divine Tome had transformed his formerly worthless physique into the Nine Suns Divine Physique and taught him numerous divine abilities. |
| Great Emperor Realm, Sixth Heaven | 699 707 | Absorbs the Burial God Abyss’s energy alongside his allies. Later confirms that all four have reached the sixth heaven of Great Emperor. |
| Threshold of a God King Body—temporary | 863 | Uses Undying War Blood from the War King Tomb to rebuild his ruined body and briefly raise his physical strength to the threshold of a God King Body. This is a bodily enhancement, not a confirmed God King cultivation breakthrough. |
| Complete fusion with the Immortal War King’s true blood | 864 | Regenerates shattered bones and flesh, greatly amplifies his power, and forces the Heaven-Severing God Sovereign’s projection back half a step to finish its trial. |
| Heaven-Severing Tome—minor mastery | 865 | Endures destructive Imperial Dao laws while the war blood repeatedly restores him. Forms an embryonic Heaven-Severing Divine Wheel; his cultivation has not yet truly entered God King. |
| Half-Step God King | 866 | Emerges from the mausoleum after receiving the God Sovereign’s inheritance and refining his blood. His foundation and combat strength have undergone a qualitative transformation. |
| Great Void Sutra—partial inheritance | 901 | Gains insights into half of the Void Walker’s scripture, improves his spatial-law mastery, and uses void divine liquid to heal his chest wound and regrow his severed arm. |
| God King Realm—exact heaven unspecified | 980 | After escaping Ye Tian’s killing formation, consumes supreme medicines, expels the remaining chaos sword qi, and recovers. His resulting pressure is explicitly described as a God King’s, with further advancement toward a higher level. |
Background / History
Su Chen belongs to the Taboo Su Family, a pinnacle Immortal Force of the Eternal Immortal Domain. His father lost a clan competition to Su Changge in three moves and was relegated to the family’s fringes. According to the watching Su disciples, he subsequently died of depression; Su Chen instead holds Su Changge responsible for his death and also accuses him of taking his beloved 524 526.
During an adventure in a secret realm, Su Chen obtained the Divine Tome, one of the Nine Heavenly Books. It chose him because of his unusually dense fortune, changed his physique, and accelerated his mastery of divine abilities. Before entering the Northern Sea, he also survived the War King Tomb’s dangers and obtained a bottle of the Immortal War King’s blood 525 863.
Appearance
- Initially wears clothing that is not particularly luxurious and does not resemble a noble scion’s attire 527.
- Conceals his identity beneath black mist when attending the War God Academy 581.
- After the Heaven-Severing inheritance, wears gray robes and carries an ancient mirror on his back 866.
- His rebuilt body develops bronze-colored skin with golden runes beneath it, produced by the fusion of Undying War Blood and Heaven-Severing Law 866.
- His eyes become deeper, with the appearance of two mirrors revolving within his pupils 866.
- During the war-blood transformation, dark-gold blood flames surround him and his long black hair whips through the air 863 864.
Personality
Su Chen regards himself as a favored child of the Heavenly Mandate and repeatedly interprets survival or a new inheritance as proof that destiny supports him. This conviction sustains him through defeat, but also feeds his arrogance: he challenges opponents beyond his strength, dismisses warnings, and assumes that the Sun Ancient Tree should accept him as its master 525 530 531 860.
He deeply resents prodigies born with powerful families, abundant resources, and exceptional physiques. Initially, Su Changge is the person he hates most, with Ye Tian close behind. He attributes Ye Tian’s achievements to inherited privilege even after witnessing the enormous gap between their abilities 527 582 628.
His endurance is exceptional. During the mausoleum trials, he continues fighting through shattered limbs and catastrophic wounds, sacrificing lifespan, essence, fortune, and divine-soul power rather than surrendering. Even the hostile heroic spirits begin to respect his tenacity 861 862 863.
Repeated failures make him more calculating without diminishing his vindictiveness. He learns to suppress his anger when immediate confrontation would ruin his plans, recruits allies through their private grievances, and willingly treats other fighters as expendable tools 581 644 842 843. While escaping the Primordial Ancient Mine, his companions’ deaths provoke no pity; his immediate priority is survival 869.
Abilities & Skills
Divine Tome
- Destiny perception: Can observe the past, present, and future and discern the course of destiny 525.
- Enhanced learning: Improves Su Chen’s comprehension and strengthens his divine abilities, allowing him to learn and apply techniques quickly 525.
- Physique development: Responsible for his transformation into a Nine Suns Divine Physique wielder and the body that supports his early trials 525 618.
- Guidance and recovery: Identifies opportunities, supplies an Ancient True Scripture for contacting the Sun Ancient Tree, heals him after defeat, and stabilizes his body during the mausoleum trials 530 581 862 901.
- Borrowed power: Su Chen invokes “Borrow the Laws of Heaven and Earth” to draw on power beyond his realm, while burning fortune, essence, and future potential 862.
- Limits: Observing Su Changge’s destiny-void physique exacts a price, and the Tome cannot immediately overcome the difference between Su Chen’s Saint King cultivation and Su Changge’s Saint Emperor cultivation 525.
Nine Suns Divine Physique and Solar Arts
- Manifests nine blazing suns that reinforce his physical strength and supply searing solar power 524 530.
- Counters the Divine Phoenix Maiden’s Phoenix Prairie Fire during the Sun Fruit contest 529.
- Uses the Heavenly Fire Five-Beast Art alongside his physique and sword to resist the Qilin Crown Prince, Long Aotian, and Divine Phoenix Maiden together 530.
- At Saint King, can contend with Saint Emperor experts, but remains helpless against Supreme-level opponents such as Ye Tian and Little Sun 533.
Spatial Techniques
- Nine Steps of Heavenly Movement: Lightning-fast movement with steps likened to the revolving star river; insufficient to evade Su Changge’s counterattack 524.
- Great Void Technique—Void Annihilation: Creates a destructive black spatial rift 863.
- Great Void Technique—Myriad Worlds Great Collapse: An ultimate killing strike empowered by the Immortal War King’s blood 864.
- Great Void Sutra: Deepens his spatial-law understanding and provides concealment that lets him blend into his surroundings 901 903.
- Limits: His concealment and the Heaven-Severing Mirror do not prevent Ye Tian from tracking or observing him 877 901.
Undying War Blood
- Rebuilds broken bones and destroyed flesh, restoring Su Chen from near-fatal injuries 863 864.
- Carries the Immortal War King’s battle spirit, intensifying his combat instinct and willingness to fight without regard for death 863.
- Repeatedly regenerates him during the destructive assimilation of Heaven-Severing laws 865.
- Eventually fuses with his Heaven-Severing inheritance into dark-gold vital essence marked by both destructive power and tenacious vitality 901.
Heaven-Severing Tome
- Centers on severing heaven, earth, life, and karma, using destructive laws derived from the God Sovereign’s observations of collapsing worlds and changing eras 865.
- Grants Su Chen an embryonic Heaven-Severing Divine Wheel at minor mastery 865.
- Life-Severing Palm: Removes a target’s vitality; turns a True God-level Red-Haired Monster into ash 869.
- Naturally counters the mine’s monsters sustained by strange energy 869.
- Its acquisition requires near-fatal bodily and spiritual destruction, survived through the restorative war blood 865.
Strategy and Recruitment
- Builds layered attacks around weapons, formations, powerful fighters, and expendable allies rather than relying on a single decisive blow 842 843.
- Tailors recruitment to individual motives: revenge and Chaos Blood for Jin Wudi, bloodline rivalry and divine medicine for the Phoenix Maiden, and a direct contest of strength for Tuoba Shen 843.
- Spreads false information about emperor ascension to draw aging powerhouses and hostile factions into the Burial Land 901.
- Identifies the Ancient Fiend Clan’s exile by the Eternal Ye Family as another grievance he can exploit against Ye Tian 987.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Su Family Duel and Dawn Sacred Land
Su Chen challenges Su Changge over his father’s death and his beloved, but loses within a few moves. The Divine Tome directs him toward Dawn Sacred Land’s gathering, where the Sun Ancient Tree could strengthen his cultivation and solar abilities 524 525.
Admitted without an invitation at Ye Tian’s request, he competes successfully against several prominent prodigies for the Sun Fruit. Ye Tian intervenes, immobilizes him, and takes it. Su Chen then alienates the Sun Ancient Tree through demands for obedience; after it becomes Little Sun, it defeats him and forces him to flee 527 530 531 533.
War God Academy and Northern Sea Growth
Su Chen enters the War God Academy in disguise, hoping to awaken a hidden Calamity Immortal Prodigy and obtain the academy’s resources and War God title. Ye Tian’s presence, and later Su Changge’s arrival, force him to restrain his hostility 581 582.
His progress through the Hongmeng Tower stalls near the seventh gate. On the Heavenly Ascension Ladder, Ye Tian’s rapid rise to Supreme Ninth Heaven and then Great Emperor further crushes his confidence. Su Chen subsequently strengthens himself in the Burial God Abyss, reaching Great Emperor Sixth Heaven with his allies 618 644 660 699 707.
God-Slaying Alliance
Su Chen helps recover the Abyssal Demon Eye’s Extinction Golden Wheel and the damaged Twelve Capitals God-Refining Formation. He recruits additional fighters to hold Ye Tian in place while the formation suppresses him 842 843.
The resulting nine-prodigy alliance is routed at the Heavenly Abyss. Su Chen escapes into the Burial Star Sea with persistent chaos sword intent ravaging his body; his Vast Heaven Mirror has also been destroyed 849 860.
Heaven-Severing Inheritance
Following an instinct for opportunity, Su Chen discovers the Heaven-Severing God Sovereign’s mausoleum. He passes through its heroic spirits and faces the Sovereign’s youthful projection, ultimately using Undying War Blood to force it back half a step 860 861 862 863 864.
The Sovereign reveals his imprisonment by a Ye Family ancestor and gives Su Chen his scripture, mirror weapon soul, and blood. Su Chen promises to free him upon reaching God King Peak. Unknown to him, Ye Tian has tracked the entire ordeal through a hidden rune in his sword wound and intends to use him to locate the seal 864 865.
Primordial Ancient Mine
After surviving the mine’s monsters, Su Chen follows an ancient jade toward treasures he believes can restore his destiny. Ye Tian secretly observes him and has Eli increase the journey’s dangers without killing him 869 875 876.
At the altar, Ye Tian openly reveals that Su Chen has served as his guide. Su Chen’s attack fails, and he escapes again. The coveted treasures are themselves bait in the Nine Dragons Locking a Coffin deathtrap 877.
Burial Land and Black Pyramid
The Divine Tome leads Su Chen to the Void Walker’s hidden realm, where he heals and gains the Great Void Sutra inheritance. He then spreads a fabricated emperor-ascension rumor to draw hostile factions into the Burial Land 900 901.
Within the Black Pyramid, his group repeatedly releases or provokes guardians against Ye Tian: the Void God-Eater Beast, Ten Directions Annihilation, Su Daji, and the Chaos Sinful Dragon. These plans backfire as Ye Tian defeats, subdues, or refines the threats and grows stronger. Su Chen then turns to the World-Annihilating King as a final hope 938 953 957 965 969.
Hell World and Shattered Bone City
After another devastating defeat, Su Chen and his allies escape through forbidden spatial arts and burning their origins. He uses accumulated medicines to recover and expel Ye Tian’s lingering sword qi 980.
The Divine Tome identifies Shattered Bone City’s rulers as an Ancient Fiend Clan crushed and exiled by the Eternal Ye Family. Su Chen proposes exploiting that inherited hatred; the latest documented scene places him and his allies outside the city, still wounded but intent on recruiting another force against Ye Tian 987 988.
