- The Minotaur arrives to devour the weakened Snake-Tailed Monster. Two small stone men restrain the monster’s tail, allowing the Minotaur to swallow him.
- Wang Shi considers attacking the Minotaur, but the Minotaur warns that space has become scrambled and the way home will be hard to find. He also reveals that he helped Wang Shi deal with the Snake-Tailed Monster.
- Wang Shi and Houtu try to leave the darkness, worried that its ongoing corrosion may endanger the other Saints. Despite their memories and Wang Shi’s markers, they cannot find their bearings. They eventually follow a weak aura and emerge into another world.
- On arrival, a group of Dog-Headed People attack and bind them. Wang Shi easily breaks free but restrains himself from retaliating. An old man approaches and tries to appease him, though they cannot understand one another.
- Houtu and Wang Shi notice that darkness exists in this world but is far less aggressive. Wang Shi surveys the world and learns it is made of interconnected stars, with one inhabitant on each star. He begins investigating by searching a Dog-Headed Person’s soul.
