Background / History
Tang Hao lived with his son, Tang San, in Holy Spirit Village. Following Tang San's Martial Soul awakening, he reacted with visible shock when Tang San manifested the Clear Sky Hammer. He embraced Tang San and instructed him to use the hammer to protect his Blue Silver Grass, while keeping the hammer hidden until he was strong enough to reveal it. Seeing Tang San's Blue Silver Grass also prompted Tang Hao to murmur the name “Ah Yin” in remembrance. 3
When Xiao Xiao departed the village with Su Yuntao, Tang Hao became uneasy at the possibility that he had joined Spirit Hall. Unable to overhear Xiao Xiao and Tang San's soundproofed farewell, he concluded that either Xiao Xiao had powerful protection or strength exceeding his own—both possibilities he found difficult to accept. 3
Believing that a Spirit Hall-affiliated Xiao Xiao could become an obstacle to Tang San, Tang Hao pursued him and attempted to force him to abandon Spirit Hall. The confrontation escalated into battle, during which Tang Hao aggravated a pre-existing injury by exploding two Soul Rings. Xiao Xiao evaded his attacks and exposed knowledge of the injury, causing Tang Hao to concede and return to the blacksmith shop. 4
Afterward, Tang Hao had Old Jack take Tang San to Nuoding Academy. 11
Personality
Tang Hao is initially emotionally restrained, speaking to Tang San in a cold, almost expressionless manner. His reaction to the Clear Sky Hammer, however, reveals deep affection and concern for his son. 3
He is fiercely protective of Tang San and willing to take extreme measures against perceived threats to his son's future. This protectiveness led him to confront Xiao Xiao despite his old injury and Xiao Xiao's vastly superior Soul Ring configuration. 4
