If the poverty ghost had heard Li Yichen's thoughts, he would surely have cried out in protest, "I just like the familiar scent on poor people, the same one I had when I was alive. Your poverty is your own problem. It has nothing to do with me."
Li Yichen glanced at him, rubbed his chin, and wondered, What excuse can I use to kill him? I can't exactly say I'm killing him because I'm afraid he'll peep on my girlfriend. I still have some dignity to maintain.
Then he said coldly, "When you were following me before, you didn't see anything you shouldn't have, did you?"
"No... absolutely not." The poverty ghost immediately waved his hands in panic. "You were flat broke back then. There really wasn't anything worth seeing."
"Uh..." Li Yichen's face turned green. Did this damned fellow speak without thinking? Was he worried he wasn't dying fast enough?
"Really?" Li Yichen glared at him. "If you don't talk, I'll have to use the Soul-Searching Art..."
"Don't... let me think some more..." The poverty ghost was on the verge of tears as he smacked his head.
Soon, a green light suddenly lit up in his eyes, and he said happily, "You were so poor back then that your underwear had holes exposing your butt, but you kept wearing it... does that count?"
"It counts..." Li Yichen said through gritted teeth. "Anything else?"
"There's more... there's more..." The poverty ghost's eyes spun so hard they almost blew a gasket. Then he seemed to remember something else and shouted happily, "I heard you calling out in your dreams before, 'Juan'er... heh heh... Juan'er.'"
The poverty ghost gestured as he spoke, his expression and tone as sleazy as could be. Li Yichen's face was now bright green and beginning to
