When he returned to the dorm, sure enough, the other three were still asleep.
Li Yichen settled gently onto his bed and closed his eyes slightly. Countless images flashed wildly through his mind. He had gained so much today that he needed time to sort it all out.
"Huh? How did this kid's spiritual power grow so quickly? He's already reached the Ghost Core Realm." The black jade on Li Yichen's forehead suddenly emitted a faint beam of light that shone onto the ceiling.
The memories in Li Yichen's mind flickered through the glow like a movie.
"Oh... no wonder... this kid really is a freak of nature." The Ghost Emperor Haoran understood at once, then murmured proudly to himself, "My bloodline really is something. I, Li Haoran, am almost jealous of myself."
Then the glow on Li Yichen's forehead flickered a few times and vanished again. It had come and gone in a flash.
Who would have thought even the Ghost Emperor could be so narcissistic? If Li Yichen had heard that, he would definitely have blurted out, "Holy shit," then silently flipped him off in his mind.
At that moment, Li Yichen's brain was like a computer running at high speed, breaking apart, rearranging, and merging countless images.
After an unknown amount of time, all the images suddenly stopped, and an entirely new fist technique appeared in his mind.
It worked! Li Yichen was thrilled. I'll call this new technique the Three Mysteries Phantom Fist.
If I run into that girl from last time again, I'll give her little butt a spanking. Just thinking about spanking Jiang Ruoyi nearly made Li Yichen drool.
Just then, a man's face suddenly appeared before him, followed by a shout. "Fourth, stop sleeping! Get up!"
Fuck, why is Second in my dream too? What a fucking mood killer. Li Yichen suppressed the urge to fly into a rage and opened his eyes.
Today was the second and final day of freshman welcome activities.
Unlike yesterday's scorching heat, today was somewhat overcast. Without the blazing sun, the campus was even livelier.
Under the Student Union's sun umbrella, Han Wenqi lounged in a chair with his eyes half closed. Last night had worn him out. He had barely slept, and his legs still felt a little weak.
Just then, someone's footsteps gradually grew clearer, and a voice asked with a laugh, "President Han, did you sleep well last night?"
He knew from the voice alone that Song Yi had arrived. Lifting his eyelids, he glanced at him and chuckled. "Didn't sleep all night. My back's about to break."
Then he smacked his lips and said with a trace of regret, "Too bad she has a boyfriend. She wasn't a virgin."
"Heh, count yourself lucky," Song Yi said with a laugh. "Girls like that know how to have fun. If anything happens, you don't even have to take responsibility. She's practically perfect. You should be celebrating."
"Heh, you've got a point." Han Wenqi raised his eyebrows. "I helped her boyfriend take care of her. He ought to thank me."
"Hahaha..." The two exchanged a glance, then burst out laughing together.
Then Song Wen leaned close to Han Wenqi's ear and whispered, "Why not bring her out sometime and let the rest of us have a taste too?"
Han Wenqi narrowed his eyes, then slowly reclined in his chair. "Let me train her a little longer. I'll make sure all you boys get to enjoy yourselves."
Delighted, Song Yi laughed. "Then I'll be waiting for your good news, President Han."
"Mm." Han Wenqi grunted, closed his eyes, and raised a hand to wave him away.
"President Han didn't get a good night's rest because he was busy with the freshman welcome activities. I'll leave you to rest, then," Song Yi deliberately said loudly.
Sure enough, after hearing Song Yi's words, the busy male students nearby looked at Han Wenqi with greater respect, while the girls' gazes held a hint of admiration.
Li Yichen's roommates had clearly spruced themselves up today too, though they had toned it down considerably compared to yesterday.
"After thinking long and hard all night, I believe we need to change our strategy today," Sun Kai suddenly said on the way over.
He was promptly met with three pairs of rolling eyes.
"Come on, what's with those looks?" Sun Kai snapped, embarrassed. "Fine, I only just thought of it, okay?"
"If you've got something to say, spit it out."
"Here's what I'm thinking," Sun Kai whispered.
"Second, seriously, it's just the four of us here. Are you afraid someone else will hear, or afraid we'll hear?" Yang Weifeng interrupted impatiently.
"Oh." Sun Kai blushed, then continued, "The four of us together make too big a target. Why don't we split up? That'll give us better chances. What do you think?"
"Hey, you know what? You've actually got something there." Yang Weifeng pointed at Sun Kai. "Second's idea today isn't bad. It's settled. We each take a direction, and whoever meets a girl gets his chance with her. Fair and square."
"Then here's the problem: how do we divide up the four directions?" Zhang Yong raised a practical issue.
The southern side was where they had been yesterday.
Although it had the most students registering, it also had plenty of wolves prowling around. There were far too many wolves and far too little meat, making the competition fiercest there.
"Well..." The three looked at one another. Clearly, none of them wanted to stay where they had been.
"I'll stay in yesterday's spot. I'm not going anywhere." Of course Li Yichen knew what these guys were thinking. They were practically going crazy over finding girlfriends.
The three immediately breathed sighs of relief.
And so, the four officially went their separate ways, with the other three heading off in search of their own sexual bliss.
Li Yichen strolled over to the little tree from yesterday and watched the people passing by, bored out of his mind.
He didn't pick and choose. Whenever he saw someone who needed help, he went over to lend a hand.
Of course, he mostly helped guys, because he had no chance of getting to the girls first.
After lunch, a light rain actually began to fall, pattering softly. Though it wasn't heavy, most people took shelter beneath the sun umbrellas, leaving the square noticeably emptier.
Still bored out of his mind, Li Yichen leaned against the little tree and stared at one particularly large raindrop as it slowly descended from the sky.
It really was moving "slowly." In his eyes, that raindrop seemed to be falling in slow motion. If he wanted, he could reach out and catch it.
Just as the raindrop was about to land on him, a thin layer of faint light emerged from his body. The drop was instantly deflected and fell to the ground nearby.
Just how bored could a person get? Once that drop had soaked into the soil, he raised his head again and searched for his next target.
But as his gaze passed through the curtain of rain, a figure in green appeared in his field of vision.
"This is all your fault. I almost ended up late again. Keep running around, and someone might catch you and make soup out of you." Tang Ling'er gently patted the deerskin pouch at her waist.
Suddenly, a tiny, snow-white, furry head popped out and twitched its nose. Then, with a whoosh, it turned into a white blur and darted off in one direction.
"Mantou, where are you going? Get back here!"
