"Why not leave this matter to me?" Jiang Zhizhou asked Yang Qing.
Yang Qing shook his head. "There's no need."
Seeing his response, Jiang Zhizhou understood. His earlier mention of a traitor must have troubled Yang Qing.
After a moment of silence, Yang Qing raised his head and looked at Jiang Zhizhou again. "There is absolutely no traitor within Northern Hawk."
Before Jiang Zhizhou could reply, Yang Qing added, "I know what I'm doing."
Concern showed on Jiang Zhizhou's face. "Don't shoulder everything alone. There will be a way to deal with it."
Yang Qing nodded and said no more.
Whatever the situation within Northern Hawk might be, the matter of their identity papers could not wait.
He was an excellent judge of people. The man who had inspected their identity papers earlier had clearly been hinting at something.
For now, however, they could not take any action.
Someone outside was likely waiting for them to leave the inn, which would amount to confessing without being questioned.
But even knowing that their identities might have been exposed, Yang Qing and Jiang Zhizhou had to face it calmly.
Now they had to meet every change by standing firm.
For the next two days, Jiang Zhizhou and Yang Qing stayed in the inn, never crossing either the outer gate or the inner threshold. They even had the inn's attendant deliver their meals to their room.
"How long do you intend to keep the people outside in the dark?" Jiang Zhizhou asked curiously as he watched Yang Qing eat in silence.
It was the first time he had seen Yang Qing so quiet, paying no heed to anything beyond the window, as though all was peaceful under heaven.
