Two men were entering through the inn's doorway.
Their eyes remained fixed on Ouyang Lin.
Clearly, they had come for him.
Yet for some reason, Ouyang Lin paid no attention to their arrival. His attention was entirely on the cup of wine before him.
"Ouyang Lin, His Highness has ordered you to return at once."
The two men walked up to Ouyang Lin, step by step, and regarded him expressionlessly.
Ouyang Lin said nothing. He did not even lift his eyelids.
"Ouyang Lin, His Highness has shown you no small measure of appreciation. You must not disappoint his heartfelt regard for you!"
Seeing that their words had failed to move Ouyang Lin, the two men grew irritated.
Had Mo Yi not repeatedly instructed them to treat this man well, they would probably have attacked him already.
There were precious few people in this world who dared disregard their prince!
Only at those words did Ouyang Lin's expression change slightly.
He slowly raised his head and met their gazes. After a long moment, a faint, indifferent smile tugged at his lips.
"How His Highness honors the worthy and humbles himself before them. Truly, I am moved beyond words."
"Then why aren't you coming with us?" the two men demanded.
Ouyang Lin smiled again. "If everyone who came before me made a show of honoring the worthy, would I have to visit every last one of them to show my appreciation?"
"What do you mean?" A flicker of wariness crossed their faces as they watched Ouyang Lin slowly rise.
"I had planned to sit and rest, but who could have known flies would come buzzing around? Since that is the case, you may have my seat."
With that, Ouyang Lin turned to leave, only for the two men to block his way.
