At Yang Qing's call of "Wait a moment," Bu Er and Jiang Zhizhou reined in their impatience and stood motionless.
They, too, wanted to know who had left that fourth trail of footprints.
Seeing that Yang Qing and the others had stopped instead of moving on and were staring intently at the trails of footprints, the person who had intended to follow them in secret realized he had been exposed. Slowly, he revealed himself before them.
Yang Qing, Bu Er, and Jiang Zhizhou all froze for a moment at the short figure that suddenly appeared before them, but they quickly recovered.
"Who are you?"
Since this person had been following them ever since they entered, he must have had a purpose.
Wood looked at Yang Qing, then at the other two, before spreading his mouth into a grin and giving them a name. "Wood."
His name was Wood, and he had neither father nor mother.
Wood was clearly just a nickname, or perhaps a false name, but Yang Qing did not care.
Whether the name was real or false mattered little to them.
"Why were you following us?"
Wood grinned. "No one has come in here for many years. You looked unfamiliar, so I followed you for a bit."
Yang Qing smiled faintly. "Is that so? I thought you were a guard of the Immortal Thunder Kingdom's Underground Palace."
At the mention of the Immortal Thunder Kingdom, a spark appeared in Wood's eyes. "You know of the Immortal Thunder Kingdom?"
"If I did not, I would not be standing here now."
Wood studied Yang Qing, Bu Er, and Jiang Zhizhou for a long while before nodding slightly. "Please follow me."
With that, Wood turned and walked ahead.
Yang Qing watched his retreating figure, his gaze drifting involuntarily to the ground
