"Whatever can counteract Yin-Yang Blood must surely be in the water, but as for something of the purest yang, perhaps only that turtle qualifies."
"But that turtle appears and vanishes like a ghost. No one knows where it lives beneath the water, or how to find it."
After all, this expanse of water stretched beyond sight.
But...
Wood turned his gaze back to Bu Er. "If you ask me, there is another method we could try."
Yang Qing narrowed his eyes at him. "What method?"
"Bu Er was bitten by that turtle, so it must have left its mark on his wound. If we combine his blood with the appropriate medicinal ingredients, we might be able to neutralize that deadly Yin-Yang poison."
If this method worked, they would no longer need to trouble themselves searching for the turtle. Bu Er would only need to give a few drops of blood.
"We still need to find the turtle, of course, but your idea is worth trying. Time waits for no one, after all."
Naturally, Bu Er's blood could not save all the Hidden Clan members afflicted with Yin-Yang Blood poison, but saving one or two was still feasible.
"Then let's try it."
Wood turned and hurried away. "I'll go find someone."
Once someone was afflicted with Yin-Yang Blood, their ultimate fate was destruction. Wood could not dissuade the Great Elder, nor could he dissuade the clansmen blinded by that grand pie in the sky, but he was confident he could bring one person back to his senses.
This person had been Wood's closest friend since childhood.
Before following Yang Qing and the others down into the lake, Wood had agreed with this friend that once they found the Spirit-Communicating Pearl, they would leave this place together and begin a new life.
