Yang Qing faced Heavenly Law’s intensified Heavenly Punishment, enduring the first four bolts with help from the Black Tortoise Heavy Armor and Demon Grass. As a fifth bolt gathered power, he urged Jiangli to leave him alone.

• Yang Qing rejected the chance to seek another way and stepped forward to face Heavenly Law, while Jiangli followed and reminded him of his defenses.
• Yang Qing said he would rather risk death fighting the world’s supreme ruler than back down, and Jiangli explained that surviving Heavenly Punishment would mean victory.
• Heavenly Law struck Yang Qing with two powerful bolts of thunder; the first barely affected him, but the second left him chilled and weakened his armor.
• Yang Qing asked Jiangli about Bu Er and the others, then asked whether Jiangli would return to Western Chu with him if they survived.

Yang Qing survived Heavenly Law’s punishment, but Jiangli revealed that the wounds left him beyond saving. He chose to return to Western Chu with Bu Er and the others, while Wood stayed behind to wait for Mo Yang.

• Jiangli tried to protect Yang Qing from the scarlet heavenly thunder, and the final bolt struck Jiangli’s paws and Yang Qing’s shoulder.
• After the Heavenly Punishment passed, Yang Qing asked whether Bu Er and the others were safe, then coughed up blood as his condition worsened.

Yang Qing prepared to return to Western Chu despite the mortal injuries he suffered during Heavenly Punishment, and Jiangli took the group there by flying sword. As they reached Yang Qing’s final resting place, his life ended with his eyes closed.
