He did not ask what they had discussed.
It was not his place to ask. As the Special Affairs Bureau Director, he answered directly to the central leadership, but unless they volunteered the information, he never asked whom they spoke to in private or what they discussed.
"Mr. Chen, would you like to look around Capital City? The Palace Museum, the Great Wall—"
"No need," Chen Hao said. "Let's head straight back to Pengcheng."
"All right."
They retraced their route. Into the car, onto the plane, and into the air.
The whole trip took less than four hours. Coming to Capital City to meet someone was practically like clocking in at work.
It was two in the afternoon when the plane landed at the airport. Chen Siyao and Yang Wanqing's car was already parked beside the apron. Chen Hao walked down the boarding stairs, and before he could reach the car, both girls rushed over.
Chen Siyao tugged at her brother's sleeve, her eyes shining.
"Bro! How did it go? What did you talk about?"
Yang Wanqing leaned in from the other side.
"Yeah, yeah! Master, what did you discuss? Anything major?"
Chen Hao opened the car door and got in.
The two girls immediately climbed into the back seat after him, sandwiching him between them, eight eyes fixed on him.
"You'll find out soon enough."
He smiled.
There was something about that smile. Chen Siyao knew it well—her brother always smiled like that when he knew something big but it was not yet time to announce it.
"Bro! Just tell us!" Chen Siyao grabbed his arm and shook it. "I won't tell anyone!"
"Neither will I!" Yang Wanqing raised her hand in assurance. "Master, I can keep a secret! Didn't I keep that secret last time without telling a
