Karu and Barry had a vicious fight. Neither could stand the sight of the other, and with old grudges piled atop new grievances, they fought so fiercely they nearly demolished the Guard Team's headquarters.

"I let you win this time." Barry lay sprawled on the ground, panting weakly. "Otherwise, how could you have beaten me so quickly?"

"You lost. Now release the Little Witch. How could she possibly have killed someone?"

Barry gave a derisive chuckle, seemingly thinking of something. "Everyone present said she killed him. Are you saying I deliberately framed her?"

"Maybe you did deliberately frame her!" Karu stiffened his neck, ready to challenge him, until Barry had someone toss the corpse in front of him. It instantly brought back the scene he had witnessed while rescuing Wei Junlan that day. His lips moved. "The Little Witch wouldn't kill someone without cause."

"That's right."

After returning, Leon had largely gotten to the bottom of things. "This man was a repeat offender named Brewer. He liked stealing and skulking around, and frequently abducted young children to sell on the black market. I questioned the witnesses carefully. They said Brewer struck first, probably intending to-abduct the Little Witch."

"Abduct the Little Witch?" Karu's booming voice shot up. He scrambled to his feet and walked over to Brewer, viciously kicking him twice before his anger eased. "Lucky for him he died early. Even if the Little Witch hadn't dealt with him, I would've chopped him into eight pieces."

"That's essentially what happened." Leon looked at Barry.

"What are you looking at me for? Since you've recovered, it's time I took a break." With that, Barry prepared to wash his hands of the matter. Before leaving, he remembered to remind Leon, "Our lord has returned and may summon you at any time."
