Wei Junlan had only just steadied himself when he saw Qian Wanyu single-handedly challenging a whole line of bizarre creatures. Most had been drawn by the Merfolk blood. After discovering they could not break through the water barrier, they settled for the next best thing and turned all their attention to the newcomer.
Yet the anticipated mass assault never came. Before Qian Wanyu could lash out with her Water-Thunder Whip, a little jellyfish-like creature was swallowed whole by the big-mouthed beast behind it. The scene was rather bloody: big fish ate little fish, and little fish swallowed shrimp. Before fighting an outsider, they fought among themselves. After all that commotion, only three relatively intelligent creatures remained. They seemed to have reached an agreement without Qian Wanyu knowing, taking up triangular positions to attack her together. The big-mouthed beast was enormous, as large as the three women combined. When its mouth opened, vicious teeth along both jaws were exposed, making it look somewhat like the fiercest Orca Clan members in the depths. The opening of its jaws drove all the surrounding seawater toward them, pushing the water barrier farther away. Another was a jellyfish over ten meters long. Its tentacles darted through the water, flailing wildly. From a distance, they looked like strands of human hair, colorful and eye-catching. Yet those threads wormed into every gap, blocking Qian Wanyu's retreat while stretching toward the barrier, trying to swallow them along with it. The last creature was especially small, only about thirty centimeters long. If not for its nine tentacles, it could easily have been overlooked. Having just witnessed it lure in an animal three or four times its size with its tentacles and swallow it whole, none of the three dared underestimate any of them.
