Vines suddenly shot out of Mu Sheng's sleeve, yanking his entire body backward and snapping the two fingers clamped around Dongfang Minghui's neck.
Excruciating pain shot from his fingertips straight to his brain. Mu Sheng screamed, and a trace of clarity gradually returned to his vacant eyes.
The purple lightning in Qian Wanyu's hand shifted direction slightly, hurtling toward Mei Wu.
Everything changed in the blink of an eye. Before Mei Wu could even make a hand gesture, that tiny bolt of lightning struck her, piercing straight through her heart. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Qian Wanyu, dying with her eyes still open. The finger she had used to control Mu Sheng remained rigid as her corpse slammed into the wall.
"She seemed unable to believe you would kill her so easily," Qing Mo muttered.
Qian Wanyu walked over and carefully examined Mei Wu's corpse with her whip. Once she was certain, she unleashed several bolts of heavenly thunder, only stopping after she had blasted the woman to ashes.
Dongfang Minghui covered her neck, not daring to make a sound. Little Lecher's vines had bound Mu Sheng tightly and even gagged his mouth. He had no idea what had happened and was the most bewildered of them all, with only his darting eyes left free to move.
Qian Wanyu glanced at Mu Sheng first, then walked over to Ninth Sister and pulled her into her arms almost roughly. Her face was stern. "Where were you hurt?"
Dongfang Minghui behaved as meekly as a quail and shook her head. "It's nothing serious."
A conspicuous bruise marred her fair neck, an utterly unwelcome sight. Qian Wanyu touched it lightly, and Dongfang Minghui instinctively drew back her neck, tilting her head away and putting a little distance between them.
