Randall was on guard inwardly, but outwardly, he remained as calm as still water.
"Oh? Is that so?"
What Charlotte Linlin hated most right now was Randall's utterly unruffled expression.
She had lost her composure several times already. What gave him the right to remain so calm?
"Mamamama! Don't believe me?
Then I'll show you!"
Randall's gaze sharpened at her words, and he grew more alert.
Charlotte Linlin threw back her head and roared, sending an indescribable pulse spreading outward.
Then four things resembling twisted shadows suddenly rose behind her.
They looked like tattered white sacks with arms. Black holes occupied the places where their facial features should have been, as though each carried a giant ball gag on its shoulders.
Each monster held something resembling a musical instrument.
"Soul Band: Death Rock!"
The moment she finished speaking, the monsters began moving, playing music that sounded positively deadly.
Waves of sound washed through the surroundings, swiftly reaching Randall and engulfing him.
He was not the only one within range. Smoothie and the others were caught in the attack too.
Hearing those strange, discordant sounds, Smoothie and the others felt as though some lunatic was inside their heads, madly banging pots and pans.
It also felt as if invisible hands were constantly kneading and tearing at their brains.
In less than a second, several of the weaker people collapsed.
Then something transparent floated out of their bodies.
Those were their souls!
Smoothie's expression changed. Enduring the dizzying pain in her head, she shouted to the others, "Run!"
Then she was the first to retreat.
Randall was not having an easy time either.
Standing amid the waves of sound, he felt his fingers growing stiff.
It was not numbness, because he could still feel his fingers.
He could no longer control them!
