Randall pondered for a moment, then suddenly said:
"Dr. Vegapunk, I'll get you some tissue from the Celestial Dragons later. How about you study it?"
At that, Vegapunk's enormous tongue swayed.
Celestial Dragons? Research?
Was that even something he could research?
Still, he understood that someone like Randall wouldn't bring this up for no reason.
"If you really have tissue from the Celestial Dragons, that would certainly be wonderful."
Randall nodded, then added:
"Dr. Vegapunk, can your technology rival the ancient weapons?"
Anything involving the ancient weapons was no small matter.
Yet the speaker sounded casual, and the listener didn't seem particularly concerned either.
Hearing this, Vegapunk sighed and said:
"Alas, it's precisely because things like the ancient weapons exist that I'm worried."
"What do you mean?"
Randall frowned, deep in thought.
Vegapunk took a breath, spread his hands helplessly, and said:
"Poseidon is supposedly a living creature. It's most likely something mystical, though I can't rule out some kind of advanced biochemical technology.
"In any case, I haven't figured it out, and I have nowhere to study it.
"Pluton is a battleship, said to be capable of destroying an island with a single shot.
"But in reality, with enough energy, piercing straight through the Red Line wouldn't be impossible.
"There's no way I could develop something like that on my own in a short amount of time.
"If I had the blueprints, then with my intellect, I'd probably have an eighty percent chance of building it.
"As for Uranus, the most mysterious of them all, even I haven't heard any rumors about it.
"Every one of the three ancient weapons is beyond my current capabilities."
Finally, Vegapunk added somewhat dejectedly:
"And don't forget, I'm a scientist said to be five hundred years ahead of the world."
Randall's heart grew
