"Go, my fourth Pokémon!" Meyer swiftly threw his fourth Poké Ball and commanded, "Haxorus, Dragon Pulse!"
As the Poké Ball Meyer had thrown opened, a Pokémon covered in armor-like scales, with axe-like tusks on either side of its mouth, appeared on the field. It swiftly fired a massive blue-green pulse that struck Salamence while it was still immobilized. Then its right claw shone white, and it charged forward.
"Counter with Dragon Claw!" Liu Qing immediately ordered. Salamence's right claw shone white as well, colliding with Haxorus's Dragon Claw. After a brief deadlock, both Pokémon sprang backward.
"Dragon Pulse!" Meyer commanded again. Haxorus reacted quickly, gathering deep-blue energy once more and firing a massive pulse at Salamence.
"Use Draco Meteor!" At Liu Qing's command, Salamence immediately beat its wings, flipping over and soaring abruptly upward to evade Dragon Pulse. Haxorus refused to give up and launched attack after attack, but none could hit the airborne Salamence. Instead, Salamence rapidly gathered energy. An orange-yellow sphere rose from its abdomen and shot from its mouth into the sky, bursting into dazzling light like fireworks before raining down like meteors. Booms rang out without pause, and dust engulfed the entire battlefield. When it cleared, Haxorus was down on one knee, panting heavily. It let out a tremendous roar at Salamence overhead.
"It actually withstood Draco Meteor. This Haxorus is pretty strong!" Liu Qing murmured appreciatively, then looked at Salamence. After four battles, it had used up a great deal of stamina and was showing signs of fatigue. After a moment's thought, Liu Qing took out its Poké Ball and recalled it, then threw his second Poké Ball. "Lucario, come on out!"
"Haxorus, Dragon Pulse!" Meyer immediately commanded. Haxorus drew a deep breath, gathered deep-blue energy, and fired it straight at Lucario.
