The Eight-Leaf Lotus Hotel lived up to its name. Shaped like an enormous eight-petaled lotus over three hundred meters tall, it was magnificent, its contours so distinct that it resembled a real lotus in full bloom.
Amid the receptionists' calls of "Welcome," Liu Qing and Cynthia stepped through the doors of the Eight-Leaf Lotus Hotel and were greeted by a dazzling expanse of gold. The entire lobby glittered, gold-plated and studded with gems, exuding the utmost luxury. Yet a closer look revealed that every detail possessed a gentleman's elegance and a lady's restraint, without the slightest trace of vulgarity. Even Liu Qing, the eldest son of a premier family, was momentarily stunned.
"What do you think?" Cynthia had stayed here on her previous visit to Vinyardes, so she knew how overwhelming a first glimpse of the hotel could be. Seeing Liu Qing stop in his tracks, she could not help asking for his impression.
"Not bad!" Liu Qing let out a breath. "Even better than the pictures online. Still, decorating an entire hotel like this really proves that saying, 'Dragon Loves Treasure.' I wonder whether the Dragon Clan's ancestral grounds look the same!"
"Mr. Liu Qing, Miss Cynthia, this way, please!" Since Liu Qing and Cynthia had booked and paid online, a staff member checked their identification, then led them into an elevator and straight up to the thirty-sixth floor.
The Eight-Leaf Lotus Hotel had forty-nine floors and 365 suites, ranging from 170 square meters to 780 square meters. Though Liu Qing and Cynthia wanted comfort as well as somewhere to stay, they did not need that much space, so they had booked a 170-square-meter suite.
After leaving the elevator and walking a little farther, the staff member stopped at a door. She opened it and stepped aside, respectfully addressing
