"Liu Qing, the Pearl of the Sea is just up ahead. Let's go take a look!" Without realizing it, Liu Qing had followed the ancient Pokémon fossils all the way to the far end of the hall. A short distance ahead, four guards stood at the corners of a square raised platform cordoned off with a security line. A transparent tempered-glass display case rested on the platform, and a dozen or so visitors stood outside the cordon, apparently admiring the Pearl of the Sea inside.
"The travel guide says the Pearl of the Sea is a mysterious gem with magical powers. Let's see just what's so mysterious about it." Liu Qing walked over with Cynthia as he spoke.
The security line was at least two meters from the display case, just far enough away that they could barely make out the Pearl of the Sea. A deep-blue, heart-shaped gem rested in a Golden Cup. The gem was almost transparent, with what looked like a wisp of white smoke curling inside it. On closer inspection, however, they could see that it was made up of countless tiny bubbles.
"Judging by its appearance, it really is an exceptionally rare and precious gem!" Liu Qing admired the Pearl of the Sea, but his brow remained furrowed.
"But as for those magical powers..." Cynthia nodded at Liu Qing's words, though she hesitated to say more. After all, this was her first time seeing the Pearl of the Sea.
As a member of the Temple, Cynthia had extensive knowledge of important gems and items. She had even seen such rare treasures as the Diamond Soul, White Jade Soul, and Platinum Jade Soul. Not only were all those gems exceptionally rare, but they also possessed mysterious powers, exactly as the Pearl of the Sea's description claimed.
