Hu Bin and the other students all released their Pokémon. Vulpix stood before Hu Bin, brimming with fighting spirit, but her eyes held ill intent as she looked at Lin Chen and the Electabuzz he had just released.
When Electabuzz saw countless Pokémon around him staring at him with hostile eyes, he swallowed hard and looked at his trainer, Lin Chen, in wounded outrage. Look what you've done!
Lin Chen dared not meet Electabuzz's eyes, and guilt began to well up inside him!
The referee continued the countdown. "One!"
"Two!"
"Three! Begin!"
At that moment, Pokémon on the ground and in the air all sprang into action. A hundred Pokémon moved at once, creating an incredibly spectacular scene that stunned the spectators in the nearby stands!
But things took a slightly strange turn: quite a few Pokémon began ganging up on one lonely, helpless Electabuzz!
"Butterfree, use Gust!"
"Seel, use Powder Snow!"
"Growlithe, attack Electabuzz with Ember!"
"Guys, our chance to settle every grudge is here! Poliwhirl, use Water Gun!"
"Clefairy, use Metronome to attack Electabuzz!"
At a time like this, how could Hu Bin and his friends possibly stay out of it?
An excited Wu Jin said, "Machop, use Focus Blast! Blast him!"
Liu Yi licked his lips as well. "Munchlax, use Energy Ball! Blow him away!"
Hu Bin wore a cruel smile too. "Vulpix, a full-power Aurora Beam!"
When the students joining the assault heard Hu Bin call for a full-power Aurora Beam, they were utterly dumbfounded. Just how deep did that grudge run?!
Both Lin Chen and Electabuzz went pale with fright. Good heavens, just how much do people hate me?!
Electabuzz trembled as he thought, What did I do to deserve a trainer like this?!
Helpless, Electabuzz could only use Protect and defend himself with everything he had. But there were simply too many Pokémon unleashing moves. In an instant, every attack came hurtling toward him without mercy.
Electabuzz's Protect shattered instantly. Every move struck him, causing a massive explosion whose shock wave even sent Lin Chen flying.
Before losing the ability to battle, Electabuzz suffered more pain than any Electabuzz his age should ever have to bear! Boo-hoo!
The referee swallowed and rushed over to Electabuzz. After confirming that he could no longer battle, he announced loudly, "Electabuzz is unable to battle! Lin Chen is eliminated!"
The number 100 on the big screen instantly changed to 99!
Lying on the grass, Lin Chen gazed up at the sky and silently shed tears. The wind felt especially restless today!
The medical staff quickly carried Electabuzz and a utterly despondent Lin Chen to the infirmary for treatment.
And so Lin Chen gained an embarrassing record he would never live down: the first contestant eliminated from the hundred-person battle! What a disgrace!
After defeating Lin Chen, everyone quickly joined the other skirmishes. Hu Bin and Vulpix wove effortlessly through the battlefield!
"Vulpix, use our secret weapon, Double Team, then use Mist!"
Vulpix created multiple illusory copies, then breathed out mist to obscure everyone's vision!
Quite a few Pokémon were already struggling to see, and now there was a whole crowd of Vulpix. Landing a hit on her was practically impossible!
This move was another reward the system had given them after they defeated the PE teacher. It greatly improved Vulpix's evasiveness and added more variety to her offensive options!
Within the mist, Vulpix kept ambushing Pokémon, leaving quite a few unable to battle!
Elsewhere, Wu Jin and Machop fought their way forward with Karate Chop. Their recent training had made them considerably stronger, but the school had plenty of skilled opponents too. Machop had suffered injuries all over, yet still kept going!
Liu Yi was even sneakier. Taking advantage of Munchlax's Thick Fat, he bulldozed his way through the field. With an enormous pool of health, the tanky Munchlax fought like a god of war, recovering with Rest and attacking with fists. It was a performance full of both flair and skill!
Hu Bin even had time to check on his two good buddies. Once he looked, he felt like a proud old father. All the effort he had spent raising those two lately hadn't gone to waste. They had finally amounted to something!
Soon, the number of Pokémon on the field had dwindled to just fifty. The battle was fierce!
The spectators outside watched the thrilling match while munching popcorn, drinking ice-cold cola, and cheering. They were having the time of their lives!
Hu Bin glanced at those carefree spectators, and his face darkened. The school clearly wasn't assigning enough homework!
"Skarmory, use Whirlwind to clear the mist!" a boy called to his airborne Skarmory.
Skarmory beat his steel wings, whipping up a powerful wind that dispersed the mist. It revealed Vulpix and her many copies ganging up on a small, helpless Buneary!
Hu Bin and Vulpix quickly noticed what Skarmory had done. After swiftly finishing off Buneary, Vulpix fired an Aurora Beam straight at Skarmory!
A cute girl picked up her defeated Buneary and shot Hu Bin a fierce glare before leaving the field to get Buneary treated!
Skarmory dodged the Aurora Beam and gave Vulpix a mocking look.
Meanwhile, Hu Bin and Skarmory's Pokémon Trainer stared at each other.
The Pokémon Trainer chuckled. "It's no use. My Skarmory is a Flying-type and controls the skies. Your Vulpix can't hit it! Just give up!"
Hu Bin glanced at Skarmory, suppressed a smile, and asked the Pokémon Trainer, "Are you sure?"
Certain of victory, the Pokémon Trainer replied, "Do you actually have a way? Impossible. Stop putting on a brave face! Skarmory, use Peck repeatedly!"
But something strange happened. Skarmory did not move at all! He simply stared blankly at Vulpix, utterly motionless!
Panic began to creep into the Pokémon Trainer's eyes. "Skarmory, attack! Why are you just standing there?!"
Hu Bin gave a wicked smile. "It's no use. Skarmory won't be able to attack Vulpix for a while!"
The Pokémon Trainer stared blankly at Hu Bin. "What's going on? What did you do?!"
Hu Bin said, "I noticed your Skarmory was male, so I secretly gave Vulpix a hand signal to use Attract. Now your Skarmory is infatuated with her!"
The Pokémon Trainer despaired and cried out indignantly, "How can you be so underhanded?!"
Hu Bin calmly turned away, cutting a dashing figure as he left behind a single sentence that brought the Pokémon Trainer to tears!
"Vulpix, send him home with a full-power Aurora Beam!"
"Vul!" I'll blow him away!
Vulpix unleashed an enormous surge of Ice-type energy, taking Skarmory out in one shot. She turned coolly and followed Hu Bin away, while Skarmory fell to the ground with spirals in his eyes, unable to battle!
Looking at his defeated Skarmory, the Pokémon Trainer wanted to cry, but no tears came!
