The four of them and their four Pokémon strode mercilessly onward, burping as they browsed the bustling night market!
"Brother Bin, what's up? Why did you feel like visiting the night market today?" Liu Yi asked casually, rubbing his belly.
"I came to check out the market. I might be spending a lot of time here in the future!" Hu Bin's eyes lit up as he surveyed the bustling stalls around them!
Wu Jin joked, "Bro Bin, don't tell me you're planning to set up a street stall!"
Yi Nanzi and Liu Yi also looked at Hu Bin curiously.
"Yep! I want to make lots of money to raise my Pokémon. Training is going to get expensive down the line, so I came to scout things out and see whether I could make some money here!" Seeing how well these stalls were doing, Hu Bin felt he had a real shot!
All three were stunned. "Brother Bin, you're already the school champion! Do you really need to keep things this down-to-earth? You're even planning a street stall!"
"Easy for you to say!" Hu Bin said irritably. "Training will only get more expensive. How am I supposed to train properly without money?"
Liu Yi looked at Hu Bin seriously. "Brother Bin, are you short on money? It's okay. Just tell me, and I'll lend you some!"
"Yeah, Bro Bin! If you're short on money, just tell us. We'll lend you some! Don't treat us like strangers!"
Yi Nanzi and Wu Jin chimed in as well.
Hu Bin rolled his eyes. "I'm not taking your money. Don't you have Pokémon to raise too? If you really want to help, come help me run the stall and support my business!"
Wu Jin and the other two knew what Hu Bin was like. Once he said he would do something, he would see it through!
All three thumped their chests and promised to join Hu Bin at his stall after training to make money!
After looking around the night market, Hu Bin felt reassured. There's plenty of foot traffic here. With my skills, I'm sure I can make a lot of money!
Ah, this is great! Time to start getting things ready.
Hu Bin looked at Wu Jin and the other two seriously. "Remember to come help me when the time comes!"
The three immediately declared, "Of course! Just say the word, Bro Bin, and we'd walk through fire for you!"
Seeing those three looking so righteous, as though they were ready to march onto a battlefield at any moment, Hu Bin couldn't help laughing. "We're just setting up a stall, not committing robbery. You don't need to be so serious! You'll scare the customers away!"
At Hu Bin's words, Wu Jin and the other two laughed too, then threw their arms around his shoulders.
"Don't worry, Bro Bin. Once the stall's up, just sit back and watch our sales skills! Come on, we'll treat you to ice cream!"
And so the three dragged Hu Bin over to an ice cream stall to buy some. Warmth filled his heart. These guys are pretty dependable after all. All that effort looking after them wasn't wasted!
Who knew whether Wu Jin, Liu Yi, and Yi Nanzi would fight him to the death if they heard that thought, taking him down with them in a desperate one-for-one trade!
After having some fun at the night market, Hu Bin and Vulpix said goodbye to everyone and went home.
Hu Bin carefully placed his school championship trophy on the cabinet. Vulpix beamed at the sight of it too!
I have to win more first places and get more trophies until this whole cabinet is full!
Vulpix thought, brimming with ambition!
Hu Bin sat down on the sofa and began taking stock of the day's gains. Vulpix hopped onto the sofa with practiced ease, pressed the power button on the remote with a little paw, and continued watching Vulpix's favorite television drama!
First, Hu Bin checked the rewards the system had given him for winning the rookie tournament!
The system had given him a skill upgrade voucher that could upgrade one of his skills. Hu Bin used it straight away on High-Grade Pokéblock Production. The voucher turned into a flash of light, upgrading the skill to Special-Grade Pokéblock Production!
Hu Bin felt that his ability to make Pokéblocks had improved, and he had gained more insight into their production!
The system had also rewarded him with a Substitute manual. Hu Bin's eyes lit up. This was an excellent move that could be a huge help in battle.
Then there were the 5,000 points awarded by the system, which instantly restored Hu Bin's confidence!
Hu Bin took out the Never-Melt Ice and the Extrasensory manual the principal had awarded him, then put the Never-Melt Ice necklace on Vulpix.
Vulpix was delighted to wear it. The Ice-type energy flowing from the Never-Melt Ice felt wonderfully comfortable!
Next, Hu Bin went to his room to fetch his laptop and looked up the training methods and items needed for Extrasensory!
He had been fine before looking, but what he saw gave him a shock. Hu Bin sucked in a breath. Are these costs for real?!
Extrasensory was extremely powerful. It could even be used in everyday life to move objects with the mind, but a Pokémon needed tremendous mental power to use it!
Improving mental power was even harder than strengthening the body. That was when outside resources, such as Psychic Gems, became necessary!
Hu Bin clutched his chest, feeling that his wallet would soon be empty. The heartache left him unable to breathe!
So far, Vulpix knew only one Psychic-type move: Hypnosis! Vulpix was extremely skilled at using it and had gained a little understanding of Psychic-type energy.
Since tomorrow was the weekend, Hu Bin decided to take Vulpix to the Training Hall's Psychic room to train. He would grit his teeth and exchange his points for a few energy gems for Vulpix to use!
Ugh, those hard-earned points are about to fly away again! Why does my heart feel like it just took a Blizzard? So cold, so cold!
Finally, looking as though he had nothing left to live for, Hu Bin entered the system shop and exchanged his hard-earned points for five Psychic Gems. Seeing that his point balance had dropped to just two digits, his heart ached so badly he could barely breathe!
When Hu Bin took out the five Psychic Gems, Vulpix's eyes shone, and those little tails wagged furiously!
Yay, more yummy food! This is great! My trainer is the best!
Vulpix jumped straight off the sofa and ran back to the bedroom. Before long, Vulpix emerged with an Ice Gem held in that little mouth and placed it beside the Psychic Gems!
Vulpix's little face was filled with contentment!
Vulpix licked the Ice Gem with a little tongue, then turned to lick a Psychic Gem. Mmm, these both taste amazing!
Having watched the whole thing, Hu Bin was left dumbfounded and utterly awestruck!
Such a gourmet! Even alternating between the two!
