Ch. 441Delicious Pokéblocks, sweet-talking Zacian
Plot points and events
- Eternatus’s energy surges across Galar, causing Pokémon to Dynamax and rampage. At the Energy Plant, Chairman Rose deliberately feeds it more energy, hoping to bring about “Infinite Energy.”
- Professor Oak recognizes the signs of the approaching Darkest Day and warns that Eternatus may soon awaken. He and Professor Magnolia organize a search of Wyndon and request support from the Galar and Kanto Leagues.
- Rose’s men appear to be helping search, but they deliberately avoid the Arena, where Rose’s scheme is unfolding.
- Hu Bin struggles against Zacian, whose Behemoth Blade easily defeats the combined attacks of his Ninetales, Zeraora, and Latios. Hu Bin uses an Aura Sphere to stun her, then climbs onto her back and hangs on as she tries to throw him off.
- Hu Bin feeds Zacian Pokéblocks. She enjoys them, and his offer of more—along with his appeal for help against Eternatus—softens her hostility. He returns to Wyndon, leaving her the option to join him.
Character developments and interactions
- Hu Bin shifts from trying to find a chance to capture Zacian to winning her cooperation through persistence, courage, and food. His reckless ride shows both his desperation and determination.
- Zacian begins as an amused, overwhelming opponent, but her suspicion eases once she tastes Hu Bin’s Pokéblocks. She remains cautious rather than agreeing outright to help.
- Professor Oak and Blue recognize the danger and quickly mobilize allies, with Blue calling Red and the Kanto Elite Four.
- Rose is revealed as the cause of the escalating crisis, even as his organization presents itself as part of the response.
Significant themes
- Human greed and unintended catastrophe: Oak warns that Rose’s pursuit of power is risking a disaster beyond human control.
- Cooperation through trust: Hu Bin cannot overpower Zacian, so he appeals to her through patience and generosity.
- Crisis and collective responsibility: The approaching Darkest Day forces leaders and trainers across regions to prepare together.
