Tetsuya led Zabuza and Haku into a separate courtyard beside the Daimyo's Mansion. This was Uchiha Izuna's residence.
However, he hadn't come to see Izuna. He had come to see Sasuke.
Although the Uchiha Clan had a settlement east of the Capital City, Sasuke had been staying with Izuna ever since he returned to the Land of Grass from Orochimaru's place.
"Izuna! Izuna, where are you? What are you guys doing?"
Tetsuya started shouting as soon as he entered the courtyard.
"What are you yelling for? Can't you keep it down?"
Izuna poked his head out of the study window and grumbled irritably.
Tetsuya walked over to the window and looked inside the study.
The desk, floor, stools, and bookshelves were covered with drafts full of scribbles and corrections, some laid out and others hanging up.
"Oh? What's all this? Giving up being a ninja to become a calligrapher?"
"Get lost. What calligrapher? I'm researching the Rinnegan's abilities."
"The Rinnegan's abilities? You still haven't figured them out? Didn't you say you pretty much had them sorted out already?"
At that, Izuna looked at Tetsuya reproachfully.
"This is all your fault."
"My fault?"
"That's right. After you took that kid Sasuke out, he came back and told me how the copy of me you created used the Rinnegan's power to erase enemies with space.
"Then I tried it myself and discovered I couldn't use any of those abilities he described."
For a moment, things became rather awkward.
Why could the copied Izuna use techniques the real Izuna didn't have?
The reason was simple. Ultimately, the copied Izuna was a creation of Tetsuya's ability, governed by Tetsuya's thoughts.
And at the time, all Tetsuya had been thinking was that he should show Sasuke something impressive, something flashy.
"Hahaha, maybe you actually could
