Hashirama: Good thing Konoha isn't in the Land of Rain, or the whole village would be underwater

Looking at Konoha, built inside the enormous crater before him, Tetsuya suddenly remembered. Right, there was that little detail.

Nagato and his two friends had met him and Izuna as children, so Yahiko had never become Pain, and Nagato had never gone to Konoha to "deliver rice."

That also meant Konoha in their Shinobi World was still perfectly intact.

In the other timelines where they hadn't interfered, Konoha had ended up built inside a giant crater.

Tetsuya laughed. "Come to think of it, Madara had something to do with Konoha ending up like this."

"Something to do with me?"

Madara frowned, but his brow soon relaxed again.

"Oh, you mean the me from this timeline."

"More or less. Actually, you're both somewhat involved."

Curious, Hashirama pressed him for an answer.

"What exactly happened? Does Konoha looking like this have something to do with Madara? What's going on here?"

"Well, that's a long story. To put it simply, after Madara awakened the Rinnegan, he was also nearing the end of his life.

"So he devised a whole series of plans, all centered around the nine tailed beasts and the Eye of the Moon.

"The Akatsuki was a crucial part of capturing the tailed beasts.

"Once their plan to capture the tailed beasts got underway, they came after Konoha's Nine-Tails.

"They fought a huge battle here. Nagato hit Konoha with a Super Shinra Tensei, and afterward, Konoha was rebuilt inside this enormous crater."
